Today (12/8) was my big day! I was ready, came in and got prepped, felt a little nervous obviously, but followed through and I'm lying here now in recovery. Other than the initial cloudiness in some pain, it's been pretty smooth. Cannot wait to begin the rest of my life!

Congratulations mate!!

You're taking off on what is a fantastic voyage...

I'm just over 9 months post-op and still feel the same as you do now...

Without the cloudiness and pain!!!

Well done and welcome...

Congrats! I was sleeved 12/1! Going great so far. Down 9 lbs but the thing I'm loving the best is how full I get on so little!

The other thing is that recovery was not that bad! Good luck and keep us posted!

So good to read posts like yours, Jimney--I'm scheduled for surgery on 12/22 and I'm nervous. Thanks and good luck on your journey! (I'm a newbie here at this board too.)

Hello, I am new to this board. I am enjoying hearing all your stories. Thank you all for sharing. I had a lap band in 2006, success, but 6 years later many problems with vomiting during meals and became unbearable. I had it removed in 2014. I am now scheduled for a sleeve on 12/17. Excited. Down 11 pounds on pre diet.

Thanks for the well-wishes everyone. I'm super tired today, but everything is getting better. I'm drinking now, and the catheter had finally been removed!

Jimney, 12/8 was my date too. Have had a good recovery so far. One more day of Clear Liquids for me then 2 weeks liquid diet. So ready to actually chew my food! Thought several times what in the heck have I done! But I know it is the best thing for me as I was inching my way on up to the 300 mark. My main problem is crushing my medicines as they taste horrible! Hopefully I will be able to take them whole soon. Best of luck with your recovery!

I'm also a 12*8. I went to several stores today to get the walking in, then stretched out, face DOWN, on the bed! Wow that felt good. Trying to dial back the painkillers, and the swallowing pain is less all the time. Thinking today about how I will define success... Still not sure.

Thanks for chiming in Emilie. I've been following this thread because surgery is 12/22 for me and I'm getting anxious about the pain, the gas, and the discomfort after surgery but I'm still committed to it. Seems all I can think about these last few days is this surgery and how it will go.

I had surgery on the 9th. I would have to say that I am doing pretty good minus the gas pain. I have tried gas x walking hot towels showers and nothing seems to work any ideas would be helpful. Thank you

Time, tiny tulip. I took a spoonful or two of yogurt and that may have helped....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
