I hate my neck

Recommended Posts

My neck has this blob of skin hanging and I just hate it. It looks like a balloon that has deflated. I look at before and after pics of others and think their necks look great. I use a cream (minimal help) and I've started neck exercises. First thing I plan on once I'm done losing weight is get a neck lift! But I'm very happy to be losing weight and surgery can solve the neck problem in the end. Does anyone else hate their neck?

Don't lose heart - I had a turkey neck thing going on for a few months after I lost the bulk of my weight - now, 3 years out - well I'd say 1.5 years ago - my neck has been 'normal' - I'm 46, so expect a bit of slackness I guess, but its fine now - well done on losing :)

Be patient. At a year out and 135lbs down I felt the same way. But a year later now it's soooo much better and I'm 45 and had other plastics because skin elsewhere didn't come back. The neck skin still isn't perfect but it's a LOT better

I'm not as worried for my neck, as I am my whole face...my friend tells me all day.. I don't understand how you have no wrinkles at all.. I attribute it to my Water intake, plus my fat in the face????... But I'm afraid after the surgery in going to look older, I'm 35 but people ask me if I'm in my twenties.. ????

Hmmm - you give me hope, I worry because I'm post menopause and I don't know how much elasticity I have at this point. I guess I just need to give it some time and see.

surgery can solve neck problem

@@BestDayEver

i lost 105 bs GOAL!!!

my turkey neck was always horrible

being an ol' fart of 61

i had more loose skin in my face too

"maybe" a wrinkle or two

i decided to be really brave (or stupid LOL) and have a face lift!!!

at 3.5 years PO

i have seen MANY people on the board complain about their turkey necks

you are not alone

misery loves company

i think it is true that the younger you are (35) your neck might not get that bad

the sleeve AND face-lift were the best things i have ever done for myself

now i look cute as a button

keep up the good job while you loose weight, and turkey neck!!

good luck

kathy

I'm post menopause as well and was surprised it came back as well as it did...unlike other parts of my body LOL!

I too am over fifty and have a turkey nec and have noticed that it seemed to be firming up. I thought I was just getting used to it.

Adore reading posts from us more ahem " mature" ladies.

Post menopause, weight loss is more difficult and slower for me,but still maintaining fairly well. Had WLS pre menopause and I am so thankful, this year as always, for changing my life and size.

Water is the hardest part some days. I think water helps with skin too. Those jowls, not so much the neck, are kinda getting to me.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
