Hi,

Congratulati on your 50 pounds loss!!!!

Sorry, to hear you are having complications.. I hope the nutritionists can help you.

Laney from Long Island also. I had my sleeve done at Stony Brook with Dr Pryor on 8/18/16. I am down 35 pounds but I have been at a stall for 2 weeks now it is frustrating.

Hope the complications get resolved for you soon.

Hi,

My name's Jerry. I'm not technically on the island but I'm pretty close.

My wife and I live in Bayside Queens and we are both getting sleeved during the

next two months. My wife is having her procedure this Friday and I'm getting mine on Feb. 14th.

We're both very excited about starting this new phase of our lives and look forward to any support we can find.

Was wondering if there were any other couples that have had this done on this forum. I'd love to hear some

of your stories. Gotta run. Have a great day, everyone.

Best,

Jerry

Hi there, almost 9 months post-op and down 75 pounds feeling great!!!How is everyone else doing? I meet up with some others from LI that have been sleeved and if anyone is interested in joining us our next meet up is June 3rd at Panera in Garden City. It is nice to be able to chat with others that have gone through and understand the surgery we had. Elaine

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
