I have a friend in the Portland area. I am going to give her your email

address. She was banded by my dr. the same day as me.

I think she could really use the support!

I'm just starting the process - I've had my sleep study and my other appointments are next week.

Anyone banded by Dr. Emma Patterson? I'm anxious and nervous but very determined.

Thanks!

Hi Debi;

I'm going in for my appointment with Dr. Jan who is in the same office as Emma Patterson on Monday. I haven't noticed anyone who's been banded by either since I've been on this site but only been checking it out for a few days. I'm really nervous too, especially since I started checking out all the postings about complications. I have quite a few questions I would like to ask now but a little worried too. I was asked to lose 13 pounds before the surgery and it's been quite a battle since I just had foot surgery and cannot exercise to aid my efforts. I'm hoping that they will take that into consideration when I meet with the doc on Monday to discuss the surgery

I am getting banded on the 24th of next month. I am so excited, but nervous, and I would love to meet up with you guys when you meet, if your still meeting. I am up past Sandy towards the mountain.

I am getting banded by Dr. Cagle in Vancouver. Anyone ever had it done by her?

Also, anyone else get put on the milk diet... I need advice on that.

Elaine

Well, the milk diet is basically me drinking skim milk as much as I want, 3 times a day for at least 5 minutes. I can drink crystal light, and Water. AND THATS IT!!! I cant believe it. I am going to be starting a couple days early, because I have my pre op appointment next friday, a whole 2 weeks before my surgery. I want to lose a weeks worth of weight before I see the doc to see if she is able to let me eat even veggies or something.

So, thats my diet.. I hope Im sticking to it...

Elaine

      Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

      I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
