Almost 2 months-Not eating

Recommended Posts

I'm a male, I was 189kg pre surgery. Now its almost 2months after surgery, i'm still on liquid intake. I cannot eat at all. If i take puree food, i can only have 2 teaspoon or none at all cz i feel nausea. I feel very weak cz i dont eat. I'm only having Protein twice a day and Water. Is this normal? Has anyone hone through this?

Please call your surgeon. Depending on which surgery you had, you may have a stricture. You need to be getting your Protein and Vitamins and Fluid.

totally NOT NORMAL

I'm 2 months post op (OMG already!!!???) on Monday and I am on a normal eating plan. (except some foods that I don't wish to re-introduce into my eating plan)

I agree, it could be a stricture, or a bowel obstruction. please go get it checked out immediately!

keep us posted too please.

hope all is ok

Heather

It also could be that you are severely dehydrated which can cause the nausea. I would certainly call my surgeon to rule out anything more serious but you must start drinking fluids immediately if you can.

Yes exactly. The thing is i cant even hear the word "food". I cant and dont feel like eating at all. I will definitely look for a doctor here. I did the surgery in another country, so im trying to communicate with my Nut. But like u said i have to do a check up. I hope at least i can increase the Protein intake for now cz its Fluid. Thank u all. Will keep u posted. Do comment for more advices. Really appreciate.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
