Psych eval

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I'm newish to the forums and am near scheduling a surgery date. However, I am curious how everyone's Psychological evaluation went? My first appointment is today and am quite nervous but not overly panicked. Thanks!

Thanks Holly! Hopefully I'll go through this with ease. I've never done any type of mental evaluation in my life.

It was the easiest of my requirements. I had no written or personality tests. It was a simple one on one conversation about my knowledge and expectations of the procedure, my family and support system, my diet and health history, and other topics along those lines.

Just take a deep breath, relax, and be yourself. You'll do fine!

Thank you! Unfortunately, I believe mine is going to be slightly more difficult as it is two scheduled appointments =(

Mine is also in two parts and includes s personality test. I have done the first part. This is my final step and the wait is killing me! ;-)

Good luck @@citygirl1962 the first part wasn't bad at all. The only trouble I went through was the fact that I wasn't aware I had to get pre-authorized by my insurance. Noone ever told me. Regardless, the written test awaits!

Mine was torturous, but it was all because of the psych himself. He's just a total jerk period. He didn't listen to me, he interrupted me, he made me feel uneasy, and when all was said and done I still passed! Then he held my eval hostage til I paid a bill he never bothered to send. He hung up on me when I called and I called back and told his answering machine that I was calling to arrange the payment and he picked up that phone so quick I'm sure it nearly fell over! He was the only blight to the whole process and even given that he couldn't find anything wrong with me! Haha so best advice really is to stay calm and just be as honest as you can filing put the paper form. It'll be just fine!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
