Silver Cross 4 hour nutrition class

I havnt done any Vitamin research but i agree going there every month is a pain. Im just going to get some Centrum Multi Vitamins when im done with my current bottle. It rubs me the wrong way that the promote their own brand. Screams kickback to me. I never took Vitamins with the band and never had any problems.

Did you happen to catch though that they claim if you take their Vitamins you won't lose your hair? I don't know what to think about this Vitamin thing.

Im not concerned about the Hair loss. I never had any issues with the band and i think with the sleeve i will be getting more nutrients then before. I think any multi Vitamin will work.

I was wondering of anyone had to do lovenox shots ( blood thinners) and for how long? And is you had a drainage tube afterwards? I know all doctors are different. I will be having bypass.

I had the sleeve. No drain. You do the shot in the hospital and 3 days at home. It's a piece of cake.

What kind of pre-op diet was required?

2 shakes per day and for dinner you can have 4 oz lean meat and half cup of veggies. You can have broth, sugar free Jello, or popcicles twice a day to help with hunger.

Did you puree your eggs or cottage cheese in the 2 week pureed stage?

I never pureed. I figured by the time u chewed really well it became pureed. You wont eat a whole lot the first two weeks anyway. Lots of broth.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
