I went for a 6.5 mile walk today and went to PT and did arms and legs strengthening exercises. I am post op 4 weeks tomorrow. I try and walk 3 miles a day and some sort of core/toning-the long walk today was a lot and I feel it tonight!

I would walk, elliptical, bike for about 30-35 minutes which is what my NUT said for me to do!

I walk about two miles every day. I have since about 3 weeks post op (I'm almost 8 months post op now). In the first few weeks I would just go around the block or a couple of blocks. Originally I planned to use Fridays as a rest day if I needed them. I did that once or twice, but found that I felt way better on the days I just went ahead and walked. Sometimes I'll mix in some jogging, but I don't do it continuously for very long because I'm not there yet. I alternate walking and jogging.

@@tinab08 - If you friend me on myfitnesspal.com (handle: thekirkshelley)

you can see how much exercise I get on any given day. But a big part of it is where you are physically. I was a fairly active fat guy, so doing two three mile walks a day didn't bother me, but might be too much for another.

I'm 10 days post op. Havent started exercising yet, but i heard that we need to include weights in our exercise routine so we can avoid sagging skin. I dont know where to start or what to do but i guess i will hit the gym in 3 more weeks.

I can't do too much walking because I have bad osteoarthritis and my knees are bone on bone. I have been going 3 days a week to the YMCA and doing an aqua aerobics class.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
