Freaking Out and excited

Recommended Posts

It is getting so real now, 1 week from today to get sleeved. All I can think about is how is it going to feel, will I stay hydrated, gas pain, etc. My whole relationship with food, will I miss the cravings and then satisfying them, will I miss choosing my food for a while. Oh well time will tell, good luck to all of us

Not being able to have solid foods for the first 20 days sucks. Watching TV commercials is brutal. I don't think I realized how many food advertisements there were until I couldn't have it hahaha.... The gas pains were bad the first 2 days. No problem after that. Honestly, the gas was probably the worst part. Today is day 6 for me and I almost feel back to normal. No problems drinking adequate amount of fluids and Water. I just keep thinking about pizza haha.

BUT, I got on the scales this morning and I'm already down 20 pounds in just a little over 2 weeks. So it's all worth it. It's awesome fitting into old clothes I haven't worn in years. Good luck to you.

For me, I had no nausea and minimal pain. It wasn't so bad doing the stages of eating, it went by pretty fast. Take measurements if you haven't already so when you hit those stalls you can see inches coming off when the scale doesn't move. Don't get frustrated when you can't drink much at first, drink as much as you can it DOES get better.

Good luck!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
