Wondering

Recommended Posts

I have my surgery scheduled for Monday July 13. . So I've been reading about not lifting anything for a few weeks or months -which I completely understand. So I wonder if bodyweight workout would be ok.. any thoughts or experience???

It's been a while since I was sleeved so I can't remember specifically, but my surgeon had me wait a specific period of time before I could work out again. It was like 4 weeks? or maybe a little longer? I don't remember but your surgeons office will most likely have their own guidelines. Good luck!

I had bypass and it was 6 weeks for me. I could walk as much as I wanted but was not cleared for other exercise until 6 weeks. Not sure if bypass vs. sleeve is different.

The first 6 weeks was just walking for me and I was working out 6 days a week before surgery so I was all worried I'd lose muscle but just focus on healing. And then take it slowly. I remember I lifted the frozen turkey at the grocery store into the cart and it did actually hurt my stomach and I thought "Oh No what did I just do?" I was freaking out a little. It was a little sore that day.

i was cleared for workouts after two weeks but they told me to stick to walking and light jogging, no boxing or kickboxing stuff that I used to enjoy...you don't want to hurt yourself...and I also realized that I wasn't eating a lot of food, my energy levels were so much lower than they used to be.

I got mad at myself for wanting to do more, but once I realized that just moving around was good enough then I was happy and calmed down :)

good luck and congrats on your surgery!

My surgery old me that I could do all the cardio I wanted at 2wks but just no core work. Then, at 6wks he cleared me for whatever I wanted to do.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
