I am in my third week post op and I am wondering if it is normal for my left incision to be still extremely painful. I know that it is the one they removed my stomach from and there are stitches on the inside muscle. I mean on a scale of 0-10. This is probably an 8 (pain wise) My incisions are all healed, good color.

I would call my doc about pain at 8/10 and 3 weeks out just to make sure this is normal, just in case it's not. Be on the safe side and check with them.

I am 3 weeks post op. I have no pain and I had a band removed and converted to a sleeve. My incisions are itchy at times. I think you should call your surgeons office and tell them whats going on.

My incisions pain was actually quite low for the most part, ( 2wks post op) but weird thing, yesterday I put on a real pair of jeans to go to the grocery store and when I changed that night, my incision tapes were all lose and had pulled off for the most part. Today I have this one little spot that really hurts and it wont' go away, almost feels like a lump underneath. Has this happened to anyone?

I do have a small one that feels like a lump underneath. I think it might be internal sutures.

I'm having the same issue. I was told that I probably stretched one of the stitches and once the stitches pop that I will feel better. Inpatiently awaiting that day

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
