Aetna revision band to sleeve

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I was banded in 2012 and now going to start the process to be sleeved. When I was banded aetna had me go through a 3 month process . Do I have to do all the same things again or is it quicker.

Yes but it wasn't hard for me. I had my band out in one procedure and then my surgeon required me to wait 3 months anyway before he would do the sleeve. Aetna approved both procedures easily. The 90 day diet shouldn't be a big deal because it usually takes a few months to do all the pre-op testing etc. required by your doctor.

Thanks. I went in on Friday to see if I can switch. The girls submitted all my paperwork to aetna yesterday. They said I should get an answer within 2 weeks. Then I can start my pre op diet . So I can have my sleeve in about a month. I called my insurance and checked with them also. They told me that I didn't have to go through all the testing like before because the same doctor is doing it. They have all my info already. Nice

I know it has been quite some time. However I'm going in for revision if sleeve to bypass and also have Aetna. Did they require you to redo the 3mth or 6mth program? Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
