Hi everyone! I'm 5'2". I just had my pre-op appointment today and am scheduled for surgery on 3/28/16. My current weight is 292. I'm hoping to drop about 10 before surgery, at least I'm working towards that goal. My surgeon and I have not set an overall goal yet. Years ago, I was told that my lean body mass was 146 lbs. I always thought that sounded like a good number. It's outside of the BMI chart, but it feels attainable, where 115-130 doesn't sound as realistic to me. I guess we'll see. I'm certainly going to do everything in my power to get close!

You are close to my stats and I was also thinking around 145-150. I look forward to watching your progress! Good luck.

I am 5' and had my VSG in May, 2014. To date, I've lost 125 lbs. I lost 100 lbs in 8 months and the rest has come off slowly since January. According to the BMI charts, I still need to lose 4 pounds to be at the highest weight possible in the "normal" category. While I'll definitely get there, I don't know how much lower than that I can (or want to) go. I asked my Dr. about it and he said body composition is a more accurate indicator than BMI, so I'm having a DEXA Scan next week. It will be interesting to compare my BMI number with my Scan.

Ho stacy am 5' too i had my vsg in june 2014 so far i lost 100 lbs so far and still need to lose another 20 to 25 lbs to get to my very first accepted normal bmi ..the point is that am struggling. Last week i found that i gained 5 lbs and i managed to lose them ..am very frustrated i feel like am not in control and not able to lose the rest ..like my sleeve is not working anymore ..

How do u manage to lose more ..i eant to make a significant result before i hit the 2yrs bd ...i really wanna lose this excess weight. .but i feel like am falling off the wagon!

I am between 5'1" and 5'2" - but I am only a month and a half into the process. down almost 30 pounds. the main thing I am learning to keep account of is that my walking trackers think I have walked further because they count my steps and my stride is sooooooooo short. (wee little legs) :-) so I switched to a different program that uses GPS to give me a better idea.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
