I know that edaname Beans are super good Protein and they have different flavors. If you have a sprouts market in your area they carry them in the deli section and they are soft.. There are also dried ones, but those are hard and I wouldn't suggest that yet

That was the hardest phase for me. I didn't eat any meat. I lived on yogurt, ricotta and cottage cheese- all low fat of course!

I'm a vegetarian also, and just started my soft stage. I definitely have to supplement the protein.. I do so with GENEPRO Protein. Dissolves in anything. I'm going to start soft tofu, blended legumes, eggs, fish, special k protein Cereal softened with almond milk. I. Also going to try green smoothies with Protein Powder. Also veggie burgers if I chew them up real good.

Also soft cheese

And I have some Carmel Protein Bars from my slim4life days... I can't wait to get to eat them again! They are pretty soft and chewy... And really good.

@@Goldy6575 I did Slim4Life also for a while..the concept seems the same Protein Protein Protein. I had a problem with that program too finding the right sources of protein. I also did love those Carmel Crunch Bars. They were my absolute favorite!

Find yourself an unflavored Protein powered to add to things whenever possible. Learn to alter thing you enjoy. Greek yogurt is a good source of Protein. Edamame can be count In a form much like humas, or regular humas will give you an alternate source. Blackeyed peas oddly enough seem to have a good amount of protein. Non meat eater? Not trying to pry however does this include fish? I am 22wks going on 23 wks post op. Although I personally have no religious or personal restriction for no meat, chicken, or anything for that matter. I have found that mean seems to be an issue for my sleeve. Fish is my main source of protein along with cheese and protein based drinks. I also learned that post op the palet does change and things that once were so wonderfully tasty now are yucky! eggs are another thing that my sleeve is a bit picky about or maybe I should say egg as I can only handle one. Scramled sometimes works sometimes makes me uncomfortable. Post op I find that I read more labels than ever! A simply trip to the grocery now has become a process filled with reading labels. Tofu comes in various forms now as well and can be a meat replacement. Start looking in the organic isle and reading. I know you said soft food stage however realize this is different for everyone. I have purée first and learned to blend the vegitarian burgers into something yummy :)

Tons of support to you!

@@athena3127 I'm going to start eating fish & shrimp, haven't for years. If I can tolerate it I think I'm going to need the Protein source

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
