Hi from Dublin...........

Recommended Posts

Hi All, I've been introduced to this site by some lovely girls I met in Bewely's Hotel in Sandyford on Sat. 9th June. You know who you are.:girl_hug:

Its lovely to meet so many people from Dublin who have had or are in the process of having the op done. I had my op done on Jan 03.07 and have lost 3st to date. I was banded by Dr Jerome in ACS and have had no problems with the band and no regrets about having it done. Any questions you want to ask me go ahead, even the ones that you think are a bit out there.:target:

Hey Coco--welcome and congratulations! I am just curious how that translates to American pounds? You will really enjoy this site--I have met some wonderful people here, and gotten so much support and good advice!

Coco, good to meet up with you on Saturday! Here is the link to a thread that a few of us that you met on Saturday have already been contributing to. Dini, Laura and Holly123 all visit this thread quite often. You might even know some of the others from Fat Happens that are on here.

Talk to you soon.

Hi Connie, we have 14lbs to a stone so my weight loss of three stone translates to 42lbs but as of yesterday I can add another 2lbs to that loss. :clap2:

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
