March 19, 2015 - Think Thin Thursday --

If you think, “I can’t say no when [my friend] offers me food because I’ll disappoint her,” remind yourself that if you had a peanut allergy and she offered you something with nuts in it, you would never consider giving in. Losing weight/being healthier is just as legitimate a reason to say no!

I agree!!! My co-workers love their "afternoon chocolate" and roll their eyes at me and say something like, "oh that's right, you can't have chocolate" I tell them would you offer an alcoholic a cocktail, then rub it in?

I am proud of how how much I have transformed. I work hard!

I refuse to feel guilty for refusing or even wasting food. I deserve to be healthy!

My mother and her partner are in their 80s and when I eat with them are always pushing me to have some wine or some of their dessert, more dinner, etc. It helps to remember that they have serious memory issues, but I really do get tired of saying "no thanks" or "I just don't want any more - but thank you anyway" and so on. Sigh. Gets old, but then i'm lucky they are getting old too, since it means i get to keep enjoying them!

ALl the folks i work with have seen my weight loss and so are so great about not pushing food on me, and last week at our snack/coffee time the host brought v-8 juice for me since i said I'm off fruit for a while (need to drop my carb count). SO thoughtful--it meant the world to me that she remembered I liked it, and couldn't drink the juices and such that are normally offered.

Now if only I didn't have to pass that basket of chocolates on the admin's desk every day, ten times a day! I've decided that every time I pass on eating them it strengthens those mental messages to not do it--so this week it's worked out fine. As long as there's no Peanut Butter cups! (I drew the line there and told her she could bring in anything but those - lol.)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
