I got and tried a Protein supplement, GENEPRO, which I read about here. It mixes with cold and hot liquids and is tasteless. So I put it in coffee this AM but kind of plopped it in and it had small clumps. Retried this afternoon, stirring while I added it to the Decaf coffee and magic! It dissolved completely and was tasteless. 1 scoop has 98 cal, .5 fat and 30 Gm protein!! It kept me from feeling hungry :)

I got it on Amazon.

I'm in Kristi, we could start it now! Think I am getting the hang of this website! Takes this older brain longer to get to know how to work things.

My diet consists of two shakes a day. I'm using a mix called Bariatric supplement vanilla. Not bad tasting. 1 oz of nuts for a snack and 8 oz. of v8. Then for dinner lean cuisine under 300 calories. Been good. Down 12 pounds. Not been to hungry in fact sometimes miss my noon shake. So far so good.

Hoppy,

That Lean Cuisine sounds deelish! We're all basically on the same STARVATION diet before surgery. I have lost 8# in 2 days, am assuming mostly Water weight, but we will see as these next 12 days roll on.

That's awesome that you guys are having positive effects from the pre diet. I called my surgeon and again asked if I should do it....she still says nope. But I feel I need to jump start this.....considering doing something similar to Hoppy for the 5 days pre op.

Kristi,

It wouldn't hurt, I don't think. It will just be more weight loss that stays off, I hope!

Hello I would like to join the April band buddies.. My surgery is April 24th and I am getting the Slimband in Toronto.. I am nervous and excited.. I have to do a 10 day low cal diet.. No carbs, no fat, no fruit.. I guess its not too bad but will be hard to find stuff I can eat...I would love to chat with you all and compare our progresses and different things we do as the time goes along.. Please keep this thread going as I need something to keep me going.. My best friend was going to get it done too but she had hiatis hernia operation a few years back and they were wanting to do her banding in the hospital and costing her an extra 2900 so she opted out.. Now I need a partner or even better a few partners to chat with..

It was nice meeting you all and hope we can chat..

Hi Trutay,

Welcome aboard! Hoppy5, if your still with us, good luck tomorrow. Will be thinking of you and will say a little prayer too. Good luck!

Trutay, getting my surgery done at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Illiois, close to Chicago . If you've ever heard of that city. Do you mean you are having your lap band put in at the doctor's office??? Assuming this as your friend could not have it done because she had to go to a hospital? Do I have that right?

Kristi is from the Phiadelphia area and is having surgery at some hospital there.. Am doing a 14 day liquid diet, with one 4 oz. meal a day. Torturous, but need to shrink the liver and some of the or other guys in there!

Welcome to our thread!

Peggy

Thanks for the warm welcome.. My surgery will be done at a surgical centre downtown Toronto for day surgery. I go home the same day.. My friend would of had to go to a regular hospital because of her hernia operation a few years back...

So I guess in the states its always done in a hospital..The place im getting it has all the same stuff as a hospital but more of a private small hospital I guess...

Hoppy... good luck today.. Im excited to hear how it went..

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
