Hi There... I am scheduled for April 16th 2015... I was initially scheduled for March 24th, but I backed out. I am extremely nervous about the surgery. I feel like everything that can go wrong is going to go wrong with me ????

Just hope I am making the right decision... To top it all, my family doesn't support this ????

Oh! I feel bad when family doesn't support you on your such big and life changing decision.

And no no please get the negativity out do your head, nothing will go wrong... Things will go the way they are suppose to....

I got my surgery done on 12th March 2015, the only thing I regret is I wish I had got it done any sooner... I would be wayyyy smaller than what I am now. I have lost 46 pounds and I m hoping I could lose another 50 pounds and I would twirl ☺️☺️☺️????????????????????????????????

But again! It's a tool and not a treatment... So use it wisely.... I still make daily choices and decisions, what to eat and what to skip.... Exercise has to be a part of the schedule.... Then the prognosis are excellent!

I wish you both all the best with your family and I hope they support you if you do plan to go ahead with the surgery!

Not Indian here either, but I've been to India four times. You sure have the right attitude toward WLS and how to be successful long-term. I think you're doing great. :)

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
