Can't lose to save my soul!

Recommended Posts

Was sleeved on May 2nd. I have lost 50 lbs but for the past month, I've stalled! Doesn't help that I now travel several times per month for my job. Trying to start over but very depressed. I'm afraid I've stretched my sleeve. I remember reading about a stretch test. Can anyone tell me if they have heard of it? I wanted to be down another 20lbs by my surgiversary. Just needed to vent.

I lose slowly too and I've tried various things to pick things up when I stop losing. The most effective was that I went back on my pre-op diet for a few days. If you can stand it for longer than that, then I'm sure it would be even more effective. My pre-op diet was 2 Protein shakes and a healthy meal. If I do that for a few days, I'll usually lose a few pounds that week. You can take shakes when you travel and that could help keep your calories low when you have all your meals at restaurants.

Also, I'm not sure how many calories you are getting in, but I found that I need to get at least 800 per day to see the scale move. I'm also a slow loser :)

I was also sleeved in May 2014, and my weight loss has seriously stalled since before Christmas. It's making me crazy. I know I need to eat less carbs though. I know that will make a huge difference if I do.

I had definitely been eating more carbs. Over the last couple of days, I've cut a great deal of them out. I am hoping that will help.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
