  • Hi Everyone. I apologize I have not been on. I had my surgery on Monday and had my IV's in for my liquids and pain meds. Day 2 was rough for me. I could not handle sips of water or oral pain meds. Eve

Hi Maria Elena, my doc has put me on a pre surgery diet. I have to drink meal replacement shakes. I'm in the phase where in have a shake for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I can have 1 to 2 cups of veggies with lunch and dinner. I used to be able to have a snack like a cheese stick or yogurt but now I have to give those up and have a small shake. About 3 days before surgery, I can only have liquids. I'm a little nervous. I'm starting tomorrow. Wish me luck! ???? And good luck to you! ????

Stacy458 I been having a hard time resisting food. This whole weekend all I did was eat. My surgery is March 25. What did they tell you to do to prepare for your surgery. My doc said don't gain weight. ????

Good Luck! Let us know how you are once you are able.

@@Spicy06, Good luck and wishing you the best.

Today is the unofficial first day of my liquid diet. Let's see how I make it throughout the day.

Moored I'm scheduled for March 25. Are you having to do anything to prepare for the sleeve. Curios.

I'm on day 6 of a 3-week pre-op diet. Doing ok so far. Yesterday was tough though. I'm not really hungry just annoyed lol. I am allowed 4 high protein ensure and 3/4 cup of Greek yoghurt. I see what some others are allowed and I feel like stomping my foot and saying "no fair"! Lol - but since I'm not 7, I'm trying to suck it up. I'd just love a piece of toast right now though!

You'll be great! Drink lots of water, tea whatever! I bought some crystal light which has helped a lot. Great side effect of this liver shrinking is that I'm shrinking a little too! Averaging about .8 lb per day!

Yay Spicy06! You'll do great. Give us updates when you are able!

I start my pre-op diet tomorrow. I'm only allowed protein shakes, broth, jello, sugar free pudding, popsicles. No veggies or anything. Can I just be honest, I'm terrified. I also HAVEN'T heard back from insurance....I think it's going on two-weeks. Ugh, nerve wracking!

KAtieD I start mine on the16th for 10 days...same diet as yours. Let me know how it goes...good luck!

Hi all I am going March 10 yes that is tomorrow and I can not wait this is going to make a huge difference in my life I have high blood pressure sleep apnea a fib from the sleep apnea and arthritis in my knees and back good luck to all the march sleevers out there

Why is everyone doing a 2 week pre op diet and I'm not. My surgery date is March 25. My surgeon told me not to gain weight but no shakes required either. March 18 I go to a 5 hour seminar in his office with dietician etc. Please help give me advice.

. I only had to do 3 days and had a good experience with no problems.

@@mariaelena, every surgeon is different but regardless I would follow the doctor's orders. Good luck!

@Stacy 458

My weight was up 5 pounds after I ate that cheeseburger and fries last Sat. How is that even humanly possible? I was down 1 pound this morning. I basically lost a week's progress. Oh well...not going to dwell...especially since I'm on day 2 of this liquid diet. Hey have you or anyone reading this tried those new Swanson chicken broths that are infused? Like the Mexican Tortilla or Chinese Hot n Sour? I was just wondering...all these protein shakes are so sweet. Something savory would break it up a bit. Anyway...I saw you were starting your pre op. Yay! Good luck...stay positive!!

Hello All!

My surgery date is March 23rd, two weeks from today! I did part of the pre-op last week to get in the mindset. I have 2 weeks of the pre-op, this includes: 3 proteins a day, 4 cups of veggies, 1 dairy. Today has not been too bad, there have been a couple times I felt hungry, I drank some water and it went away. I am looking forward to this surgery and even the recovery. I have been encouraged by the amount of people that are glad they had the surgery! Good luck March sleevers!!! ????
