  • Hi Everyone. I apologize I have not been on. I had my surgery on Monday and had my IV's in for my liquids and pain meds. Day 2 was rough for me. I could not handle sips of water or oral pain meds. Eve

Happy Birthday! I can tell you're ready to do this....hold on to that and know that you've got a support system here. I'll be thinking of you. 2 weeks till I join you. Kick ass!

@@Spicy06 Congrat's.... I am 6 days post op, have had very little problems since surgery. I was up walking 15 minutes after I got back to my room, from surgery. WALK WALK WALK and be patient. My doctor did allow me to have the most delicious ice chips while I waited from my leak test. Once you've past that obstacle... drink drink drink!!!! Wishing you the best of luck!

Love4peace...i hear you loud and clear. My surgery is set for the 19th and it feels like eternity!! If nothing else, these 2 weeks are preparing me mentality for a food fight...more like a war on food! Stay strong...you'll be fine.

ok, so I'm on day 4 of the pre-op diet. I started our last year at my heaviest at 405lbs. Scary huh? Then, after the first of the year, I was down to 395. Odd, considering I ate like a KING over Christmas and Thanksgiving Day. 395 pounds was my starting weight when I started the preop last Thursday (march 12th). I just weighed myself and was pleasantly surprised....384lbs!! I'm down 11 pounds and I've done nothing other than eat exactly what the dietician has told me to eat. I havn't worked out at all! Scary how much I'd be down if I hit the gym. If nothing else, it's motivation to my family that with the correct foods (all perishable) and portion control the weight will drop off. It's time to get after it all!

Day one of my pre-op diet. It wasn't so bad. Were you all looking at your daily calories while you were on the pre-op? I was at almost 700 calories today. That seems high to me..

Not sure if this is normal but im 3 days in to my preop diet and am not hungry. It's almost as if im becoming afraid of food. I know that this cannot be good if it goes on for an extended period if time but wow...a week ago i was woofin down big macs. So, im convinced its a mind set, not a disease as some are suggesting.

That is so great FortKnox! I hope it stays that way for you!

That is so encouraging to hear! You were up walking in just 15 minutes once you were back in your room! Awesome! Let us know how everything is going along the way. Very happy for you!

Boy I just killed myself this weekend. I ate all kinds of stuff that I shouldn't of. I had a little weight gain too. So back on the wagon I go! I have two weeks before my surgery to get my head together! Wish me luck!

Stacy458 I been having a hard time resisting food. This whole weekend all I did was eat. My surgery is March 25. What did they tell you to do to prepare for your surgery. My doc said don't gain weight. ????

Why is everyone doing a 2 week pre op diet and I'm not. My surgery date is March 25. My surgeon told me not to gain weight but no shakes required either. March 18 I go to a 5 hour seminar in his office with dietician etc. Please help give me advice.
