- My husband is not attracted to me - 2 weeks post-op
Maya Angelou said it best: "People will forget what you said, they will forget what you did. but they will never forget how you made them feel." I used to manipulate my husband early in our marriage, just to get him to say what I was feeling in a given moment. Example: Honey, I promise I won't get mad, but be honest...you don't find my weight attractive do you? I know you love me regardless and are attracted to me but you'd find me even sexier thin right? Then if he said yes...I'd say, "I knew my weight bothered you!" Incisions aren't sexy...drains aren't either...but you heal and it's just a little scar. You will feel so much better and look great. You will however, likely remember those words and be more self-assured...then look out husband! This is for you and not him...:-)- March Sleevers
I'm actually on a preop diet for almost a month now. Not feeling that great today. I've been doing two shakes and then a small meal so I don't think that the liquid diet is going to be that difficult for me. At this point I have absolutely no hunger at all and that worries me a little bit. I don't think you're going to have any problem if you put your mind to it.- March Sleevers
I'm the 23rd. Are you excited?- How did you determine your "goal weight"?
I can't remember ever weighing 145. It does seem low.- How did you determine your "goal weight"?
I saw a formula where you start at 100 pounds for a 5' woman and add 5 pounds for every inch you are over 5'. So I'm 5'9". My goal weight is 145lbs. Just something I read.- March Sleevers
March 23rd here!- I feel unsupported... Can I do this by myself?
Hehehe well said!- Thunder thighs.
I'll go check out the photos. I hope that at least I can loosen up some of the fat.. it's pretty solid. Thanks for telling me about that though and congratulations!!- Thunder thighs.
I'm sorry to hear that you have MS. I've never had to deal with anything like that so I can't speak to your struggle firsthand. It's humbling to hear other stories we get so caught up in our own that it kind of takes you aback when you read about someone else going through the same thing and they have to work through something like that. Worst case scenario is that when I'm done I'll have to go and maybe have some plastic surgery done down the road and I'm okay with that I'm going through this by myself so I'll do it. I wish you great success in your journey.- Thunder thighs.
Plantar fasciitis is no joke is it? I've had 3 series of cortisone shots in my feet and the doctor said that he won't give me any more cortisone that if that didn't work that they would have to operate on my feet and that was kind of the last straw... that's when I actually filled out my paperwork for my gastric sleeve I can't live like this anymore.- Thunder thighs.
If you find something that's giving you results please post it on here I would love to know. And I should be thankful because I think that if I lost enough weight eventually it have to come over there too I shouldn't complain so much.- Thunder thighs.
Thanks for sharing that because I've yet to see someone that had these bulges and they're not symmetrical either I have a bulge on one side of my leg and I don't on the other one so it's just kind of strange. Yeah I will definitely go back where I'm having my surgery and have some plastics done if the skin doesn't go back into shape. When my mom was alive she would call the bulges around the sides of my thighs, flanks...sounds like a piece of meat. *rolling my eyes*- Thunder thighs.
I wish that I could somehow take a picture of my thighs because I've yet to see anything like this on anyone else. I've never had the guts to ask a doctor is there something wrong with me or if its just where my body deposits its fat.- Thunder thighs.
I was watching some YouTube videos and there was a personal trainer on there that said that the stair climbing machine is the best thing for hips and thighs so I did just joined a gym I'm going to look and see when I go if they have one of those machines and start using it because I know when I climb stairs I have one hell of a time. I've always felt so self conscious because I can't wear shorts my thighs are huge and I not only have cellulite, but these big bulging fat deposits around my hips and in the back of my thighs I have a big bulges as well. It's disgusting. I've never seen this on anybody else per se and I'm thinking that I will be one of those that's going to have to have like a lower body lift or thigh lift when I'm done. This is always been my problem area.. you could count my ribs and my stomach will be flat but then I have these huge thighs and you can't even see my knees. I know this is probably TMI!- I think the steroids are working!
You can't absorb collagen protein as well as whey isolate don't waste your money.- Thunder thighs.
Walking is all I've done so far. I'm about 4weeks out from surgery so I'll keep walking and I did join the gym so maybe I'll find something there so I can really focus on getting it off of my legs. They're really really huge.- Thunder thighs.
Is there anyone out there that carries their weight in their hips and thighs and if so what did you do to work that area? Everyone I see seems to have like an apple shape. They have smaller legs and carry their weight around their midsection. That's not me.- Hello all been a long time
You look amaz!ng- I feel unsupported... Can I do this by myself?
This must be a common occurrence. My husband can be an insensitive asshole too. He likes to criticize my choices as being too impulsive and unnecessary. In the end, we don't live our lives for our spouses and while we may love them and want their support, we don't have to have it in order to succeed. Eventually they will either come around or they won't and sometimes relationships can be damaged as a result. I have a tendency not to consult my husband before I make decisions because generally he's not supportive. But to be fair I sometimes just don't want to hear what he has to say because I don't want him to rain on my parade. So good luck to you and keep posting on here so that we but can continue to watch your journey I don't know about you but I'm super excited!! And those hubbies...well they can kiss our skinny asses! - March Sleevers
