Dizzy.....for weeks. Fainted tonight.

Recommended Posts

So last week I met my goal. I am still losing which is ok. I will have a buffer then. I am afraid I am developing an eating (or not eating) disorder. I have my fitness pal calories set at 800 and I will not let myself even get close to 800. I get all my Water and Protein in everyday. Just had my labs drawn last Saturday and they were all good. Iron was a little low so I started taking an iron pill. I have been dizzy for a few weeks. I sometimes have to hang on to furniture to regain my steadiness. Tonight when I was going into the bathroom I fainted. Not all the way. My legs shook uncontrollably and I slid down the wall to the floor. I didn't actually fall over fainting, but I could tell I was out just for a split second. I am getting a bit concerned. I think I may not be getting enough calories, but I refuse to eat anything that will make the scale go up. I think I will freak out if I see the number climb on the scale even a little bit. I have an appointment with my surgeon in another week and a half and will talk to him then. Did anyone else experience anything like this? And if so did you ever figure out the problem?

I eat 800 calories a day. I have not stopped losing weight and I'm never dizzy. You need to eat. Not only will not eating enough make you dizzy but it will eventually cause you to stop losing weight. Just eat the Right things and you don't have to worry. It could also be other issues, it's a good thing your going to see your DR.

Oh good....glad you are going to talk to your doctor. Be completely honest with him/her. Maybe find a therapist because it does sound like you are developing (developed) an unhealthy relationship with food. You are at goal, you need to be at or close to1200 calories. That's the minimum your body needs to function properly. Not healthy. Your blood pressure could be really low too causing your dizziness and that's not a good thing!

You have to eat. There is such a thing as addiction transferrence, you go from being addicted to food, to being addicted to something else. Please go see a therapist, so you can find a happy medium.

Like other have said. You need to eat and you need to be eating maintenance level calories. If you suspect you have an issue, you likely do. Honestly if you're passing out on the toilet I wouldn't wait a week, I'd call the doctor first thing Monday and share the same concerns you posted here. See if they can get you in sooner or refer you for counseling.

It could be your Blood Pressure. Are you on Meds? I am 4 weeks out and stopped one of my pills cause my Pressure was too low. Sometimes at Exercise Class I get light-headed and have to sit down. I think it is all Blood Pressure related.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
