B so good to be reminded of how this thing works. There are plenty of comparisons between us and it can mess with your mind . I am one of those who lost a good amount at first then it slowed to a trickle but I weighed 198 when I started and I'm now 127. but it has take me 2 years. I have a goal of 115 but not worrying all the time about it. I have had 4 fills each one small and the last one 1 cc made me feel I was too tight, had some sliming and stuck episodes frequently but not because I was too tight It was because I had develop bad habits like eating too fast and eating crap I shouldn't be eating. so I've developed a new attitude and am eating slower and healthier. As much as I liked food before the band, I love being healthier and thinner better.

Good post :)

My doctor just told me today, Not to get hung up on the losing weight part, basically stating a lot of the same things you just said. Everyone is different. Plus it's more about Learning how to eat healthy, Portion Control, it's a Lifestyle change he said it's like learning how to eat all over again. I agree I am way more aware of my food now of what I choose to eat, I never take less than 20 mins to eat It's a total lifestyle change FOR MY LIFE and For my Lifetime. I understand that now.

I understand the lap band is a Tool to help me achieve that :)

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
