Hesitation at the end....oh my.

Recommended Posts

I finally finished 7 months of requirements but just can't get motivated to send in paperwork the office needs.

Reasons.....not sure of priority:

1. Just had hip replacement last month and I really just find the idea of another surgery utterly exhausting. ( still on crutches and limited.)

2. Mother in law came to stay with us in July after a fall. She is waiting on an apartment to come open and I thought she would be gone by now. She is a prejudice, self righteous, religious zealot, who knows everything and does everything perfect. No way do I want her to know anything about the surgery. ( I am already hearing how so and so healed quicker from the hip surgery than i have.)

3. Nervousness about negative consequences of the surgery. This is actually minimal but it is there.

4. Last weigh ins were right before and 3 weeks after surgery and I gained 4 pounds although overall I lost 18. Worried about insurance denying me even though my doc was going to explain about me being immobile, swollen etc.

Just typing this I realize # 2 bothers me the worse. :)

Anyone capable of giving me a big swift kick in the butt!

@@Crosby, I think you're already doing what you need to do, which is take a step back and think about why you're hesitating at this stage. I completely understand both #1 and #2, and can see why they would make it hard for you to sign up for this right now. I suggest putting one foot in front of the other. The whole situation will take care of itself if you just take it one step at a time. You won't be able to go in for surgery TOMORROW, so it doesn't matter that you're not yet ready TODAY. Just keep moving and it'll be there when you're ready.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
