I agree with Elode. It's soft and will pass. I can't chew gum anymore. I have tried but I can't. :(

Your sleeve is still a tube so the gum should push on through. I remember the first time I ate Peanut Butter post op. There was no way I could hold enough Fluid to wash it down. I waited a long time before I tried it again. At about six weeks I swallowed a tangrine seed and lived to tell about it. I still have not tried popcorn at a year out, and probably won't.

OH NO! It will stick to your ribs! Well, that's what my mother always told me.

I was told not to chew gum as it brings air in our tummy's and can cause painful gas. As for the bit you swallowed; this too will pass.

Thank you guys and my doctor told me I can no longer have any type of corn popcorn regular corn anything corn because corn contain sugar even though I can't eat solids the nutritionist at the doctors told me you never again can I have corn or rice or dried fruit nothing that can expand in your stomach so that's I don't know maybe why I freaked out with the gun but so far I seem good a little bit I felt pressure in my chest but I seem to be fine now

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
