Hopefully getting sleeved in January

Recommended Posts

I am hoping to get sleeved in January. I haven't applied for my passport yet (I know... bad me)!!! I will do that Friday. Hopefully It won't take long to get it and maybe I can get the surgery in the 3 or 4th week. I am still undecided about the doctor I will choose but am going to Mexico. I will be going alone. My family thinks that I should just lose weight "naturally". My BMI is just at 35. I was gonna try my insurance but decided against it due to all the hoops you have to jump through for approval. I am nervous and excited at the same time.

@@trulyamazingtoo Nice to meet you! I am kind of in the same boat- my insurance did not cover the surgery and I am ready to do this thing.

I am going to MX in two weeks via A Lighter Me (Dr. Elias Ortiz). I am also going alone as I do not have anyone who is able to go with me. My family and friends are not too keen on me having the surgery. Oh well :) I am a little nervous, but pretty excited, too!!

You can for sure request to expedite your passport. I did that and got mine in a few weeks. I live super far away from anything, so I am sure if you live in a city or suberb, you should be able to get it pretty quick.

Good luck!

All good! My package is $4600. That includes everything except for the airfare to get to San Diego.< /p>

An expedited passport should take no more than 2 weeks if you're not in a remote location where mail takes forever. I'm in DC and got mine in about 6 business days.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
