If you indulged over the holiday's that's just a bell that can't be unrung. Just get back on your plan and move forward. No sense beating yourself up over something you can't change or undo.

60 pounds is incredible! My weight loss was more like 12 - 15 lbs a month. And if you have a little setback from overindulging at Xmas, read my post on setbacks.

Wow! That's great!!!! You're doing really well! There's no point in worrying yourself. You are not the only one to indulge a little bit over the holidays. Congratulate yourself on how far you've come and get back to the healthy eating :)

We are human. Set back's will happen. The important thing is to recognize that the holidays can trip you up into old habits. When you have a set back forgive yourself and move back into your healthy way of life. shake off your holiday blues and get ready for the new year and the new you.

Hello. Set backs are going to happen. We're human.

I finally had to get rid of all the left over goodies. My son was not pleased with me. But, I let him keep all the wrapped candy he got in his stocking...he just has to keep it in his room. All the baked goods and homemade candy was either given away or thrown away.

I learned that my sleeve tolerates small amounts of sweets. When I noticed I was eating those small amounts of sweets a few times a day I had to take a good look at the situation. I was falling into that "its in the kitchen so it must be eaten" mode. I am 4 mths + out from surgery and thought I had this whole new life totally in control. Boy was I wrong!

Do you know how good it feels to throw that stuff away? It was a very empowering thing to do! I highly recommend it! I was kind of sad to see it fall into the trash can when I was doing it....but then when it was done and I walked away I felt relief and I felt total control again!

I had the same setback. Im 13 weeks post op and down 81 lbs but xmas was rough. i didnt change my portions but i did breakdown and ate crappy. nothing crazy but still not good. I didnt gain but haven't lost anything this week. I spoke to my nutritionist and they suggested going on liquid for a day or two just to flush and get back to the good habits we have worked so hard to get. 60 lbs is great just refocus and put it behind you, that's all we can do. Keep up the good work!

New life, new world!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
