3 months out hard to eat ANYTHING

Recommended Posts

Is anybody having this problem? Even a 10 oz. Protein Shake has to be done in 2 sittings. I sip slowly and eat very slow but I'm at the point where I'm getting a little lightheaded here and there. Sometimes after I eat I also get what feels like the gas pain I had after surgery in my left side. I go back to doc for 3 month check up tomorrow but was just curious...

I'm 9 weeks out and have this issue. It takes me around 2.5-3 hours to drink a Protein Shake. I feel fine unless I exercise; I begin to light headed then and it takes me a few days after to recuperate. I'm very happy with my weight loss thus far though!

Also, I'm not sure about the gas pain. It doesn't sound right, I would definitely mention it tomorrow!

10 oz is a lot! That's more than a cup. I'm pretty sure our stomachs can only handle about a half cup of food at this point. Maybe a cup of liquid, but 10 oz is definitely a lot.

I have my Protein shakes in half servings. I'm only 7 weeks out, but I can't imagine having a whole one in a sitting.

I also have to be very careful about my food or I get horrible chest pain and sliming. I don't think it's super unusual? But if it's bothering you, definitely mention it to your doctor.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
