Help needed please, and prayers

I am 6 weeks post op. Define for first couple weeks and started to go down hill. Been re admitted 2 additional hospital stays and 3 ER trips and one ambulance trip. My issue is that I cannot even tolerate water let alone protein or food. Living on about 6oz of water a day and no other nutrients. Surgeon has no idea, have done leak tests, upper gi scans, and blood work. What happens is even a sip of water feels like it wants to come back up. Starts with tightness in chest then esophagus and then I have to burp a few times or throw up. The nausea and chest discomfort from that sip can last minuets or hours. Since they are not sure what's wrong they sent me home with home health and am on iv fluids from 9p to 9a indefinitely. I'm so weak and malnourished that by tomorrow wants to start me on TPN iv. Which is full food nutrition thru iv 24hrs a day or possibly a feeding tube. So i am basically on a form of life support. No leaks or blockages were seen. They are puzzled. Am going to see another specialist. But was hoping someone here may have had a similar post op experience. Please help

I see a GI specialist tomorrow and another Bariatric expert Monday.

I admire that, as rough as this is and how ill you have been, that you are positively advocating for yourself. I am keeping my fingers crossed that these next two appointments will provide better insight as to what is really happening and a clear path forward to good health for you.

I pray the Dr. will figure out what is going on, really soon. I pray you will be on the road to recovery very soon. Hugs!

Praying for you hun!!

Glad to hear that. Please update us as soon as you can after your appointment. Did you pick up or have a copy of your medical records sent to the GI specialist and second bariatric surgeon? It'll be really important to both of them to have a copy of your records, particularly a disk of all your radiology films, EGD results, labs etc. If you haven't done that, please do so before your apoointment tomorrow. Good luck.....

Hi I'm sorry your having so many issues I hope you get some resolution with the new drs and that u get to feeling better asap sending good thoughts your way!

I wish I could help, but do know that I'm thinking of you and praying for the best outcome. You have a lot of wisdom here and perhaps someone else will be able to share their story with you. It's odd that the xrays didn't show anything...hang in there, a solution will be found.

Have been thinking about you and praying. I hope you get some relief and answers soon. Let us know what your new Drs say. Hang in there. Your a tough one.

Definitely thinking of you and hoping for a diagnosis and relief for you. Please keep us updated!

I hope you get the answers you need and start to heal. Please keep us posted.

Starting TPN Iv tonight so at least my body can get nourishment until this goes away or is figured out. Right now cannot consume any liquids. So weak but this TPN will help. Ty for prayers

I hope they figure it out. When I had a hysterectomy years ago I was not able to keep even a sip of water down without throwing up... Doc called in a pill that I did not need to swallow :-( the next day I was eating and drinking and no problems. My hope is your complication is as easy to fix as mine was.
