Help needed please, and prayers

I am 6 weeks post op. Define for first couple weeks and started to go down hill. Been re admitted 2 additional hospital stays and 3 ER trips and one ambulance trip. My issue is that I cannot even tolerate water let alone protein or food. Living on about 6oz of water a day and no other nutrients. Surgeon has no idea, have done leak tests, upper gi scans, and blood work. What happens is even a sip of water feels like it wants to come back up. Starts with tightness in chest then esophagus and then I have to burp a few times or throw up. The nausea and chest discomfort from that sip can last minuets or hours. Since they are not sure what's wrong they sent me home with home health and am on iv fluids from 9p to 9a indefinitely. I'm so weak and malnourished that by tomorrow wants to start me on TPN iv. Which is full food nutrition thru iv 24hrs a day or possibly a feeding tube. So i am basically on a form of life support. No leaks or blockages were seen. They are puzzled. Am going to see another specialist. But was hoping someone here may have had a similar post op experience. Please help

I was back in hospital for a week. Got home a couple of days ago. They inserted an Ng tube down my nose to my small bowel and am being fed 24/7 that way. They are hoping it wakes things up. I am able to tolerate some liquids finally. If this works may remove tube in a couple of weeks and be on my own so we will see.

Thanks for the update, Cowboy. Sorry about the NG tube, but if it works, give it a little caress from your peeps at Bariatric Pal. Will keep you in my prayers.

Ty. Tried protein shake for first time this morning but threw it up so worried again as I should be able to tolerate? Maybe I drank to fast? Does that happen?

Yes it does. I had to drink out of medicine cups when I first started. Take one teeny sip, wait 2 minutes. If the tummy doesn't rebel, take another. it would take forever to drink 2 ounces, but I kept everything down.

My prayers are with you, but you must stay postive and believe there will be resolution. Keep "fighting" and beleive in yourself and those who are trying to help you.

Just updated other thread. Ty all

Hope you get better!

Oh my goodness... Is there not a drug to stop the food from coming back up? This is so scary and very odd.... Please keep us posted and will continue to pray for you ... I am sorry you are going through this
