December Surgery Thread - we rock!

Hi everyone. I'm Bella and I'm starting this thread for those of us having our surgery December 2014.

How is everyone doing? Tell a little bit about yourself and how your surgery went, or if it's coming up still.

Let's keep in touch as we progress throughout the next phase.

A great way to kick in the new year!!

My surgery was December 4th and although I had some rough moments all in all I had no complications.

I had this surgery because of back pain issues and I was already on pain meds so that part was harder for me, I had a lot more pain that usual.

My stats are 5'6, sw 240, cw 224, age 34. 2 kids, single, have been overweight since my first pregnancy.

I am about 12 days or so out and went out for the first time today. Felt like a baby calf learning to walk. My incisions are healing up nicely!

I have been eating some protein shakes, yogurt, tea, crystal light, and strained soups. The mental need to eat has been a little rough but it seems to be going away somewhat. I find it hard to be around food or see someone eating. My biggest craving has been for a sandwich! Today I had decaf coffee and it was Wonderful.

My goals this year are to get to goal weight, start working out again, and get off pain meds.

Introduce yourself!!

Surgery Dec 3rd down an amazing 70lbs! So happy!! Staying focused on water and getting as much protein from food as possible. Joy!

Surgery 12/2 - 83 pounds GONE!! ????

Congratulations to everyone for your success and just know that this is just the beginning!

Surgery was Dec 18, and I have been stuck 215 for two weeks... so far I have lost 48 lbs since surgery. Time to change up my routine

Wow, I love the success stories. You people rock! I'm really impressed with what you have accomplished.

My surgery was Dec 16 and I'm down 46 lbs. I'm feeling well and exercising. I've walked 2.5 miles at a time, and try to increase it every day. I feel good.

For a long time I was losing weight but not a lot of size. About 3 weeks ago in a space of a couple of days I lost a bunch of size, so that was great. (Though I wish I'd lose some in my breasts, and have not lost any there yet.)

My struggle is still to attempt to get enough protein every day, but other than that I don't have any problems.

Mine was dec 3 and I'm down 70lbs.

Still working on the water intake and the protein shakes. Still learning how to eat lol sounds funny but this is the hardest thing to do. My 3 month apt is March 7th so I'll see what they have to say. But I do wanna say congrats to everyone on your accomplishments you've come a long way and this is a great journey for us all :)

Annebqui, some

Annebqui, sometimes I think that my breasts are the only place I HAVE lost! Down from a 46D to a 38D! ????

Congratulations everyone on all your success! I had surgery Dec. 10th and am only down 32 pounds. Very frustrated and saddened by this.

Remember this: Comparison is the thief of joy.

Your journey is yours and no one elses. People like me with a lot LOT of weight to lose will drop it faster. Don't compare your journey just know that you are less than you were before! You can do this! We all can!

Thank you so much! I needed that!

I drink lemonade vitamin water all day I generally eat a greek yogurt for breakfast and fish/seafood for lunch & dinner. It's high protein but seems to be light going in my stomach. It's the best foods I've found for me. Do you make sure you take small bites and chew well?
