  1. I'm getting surgery on the 16th so I've spend most of my time on the Pre-Surgery boards. Now all of sudden I'm looking through the post surgery board and I've been seeing mostly really negative experiences. Even a lot of people said they regret the surgery a lot of days. Now I'm getting really nervous....

December Surgery Thread - we rock!

Hi Everyone! So glad to see everyone doing so well I have lost a total of 101lbs since the day of surgery (Dec 16th) and a total of 123lbs total! Here are five things that I'm so happy to be able to do since losing the weight: I can shop at normal stores like H&M and Victoria Secret I can cross my legs I can out-workout very in shape men in their mid 20s next to me on the elliptical at the same (or slightly lower) resistance I have been feeling so much self-love and self-reflection in the past few months I look forward to working out

    Goodbye to beer and pizza?

I"ve def still had a LOT of beer - just not as much of it. Now I get tipsy from 2 instead of 6 - but other than that I can still have it - just gotta drink slowly! As for the pizza, just limit yourself to one (or half - that's all i can stomach) of a slice at a time
  5. I don't think I realized how significantly overweight I was. I mean--- obviously seeing 335 at my heaviest on the scale told me that but I'm just still so surprised at how much that actually is. I've lost 90 pounds - down to 245 in just 5 months. Yet, I still am a XXL and still am always the biggest person in the room and still feel HUGE. I know my face is different and I can FEEL lighter. But 90 pounds down and I still have at least 50 more to go which is WAY less than what i've already lost- yet I still feel HUGE.

    What is in YOUR "SnackBag"?

light string cheese or those baybel light cheese in that red wax! a glass of milk is great too (although can't really put that in a bag lol) greek yogurt beef jerky i always keep Protein bars and shakes in my work desk just in case as well.
  7. @@aelovelady - that's what is getting to me! i lost 90 pounds but i went from barely fitting into an XXXL to have a XXL be loose. However, realistically 335 IS a lot... it's just strange.
  8. Hi all, I have been stalled since new years! I lost 27 pounds in 3 weeks post op, and now nothing! How have you gotten over your stall? I'd really appreciate any advice. Thanks!
  9. Hey All, It's been about 4 months since I had my surgery, I'm down around 70 pounds since the pre-surgery diet. However, while 70 pounds seems like a huge amount, I don't feel like my body has changed as significantly as 70 pounds sounds. My face has changed significantly but my body in general has not changed as much as I assumed it would. Before my surgery I could barely fit into a 3x and now I still shop about around a 1x. I'm not sure if it's just because even 70 pounds down and I'm still over 250lbs and have way more to go - but despite the scale my belly and rest of my body don't feel like I've lost as much weight as i have. Has anyone else had issues with their perception?

    Rash?

I have a red bumpy rash on my shoulders and down my lower back. It also is not on my chest, just a few right above my cleavage. Has anyone had issues with this? It's very itchy and after about a week these bumps have scabbed over. HALP

    Looking for a friend!

Hey! I just got the surgery done on 12/16. I'm going through a similar experience where most people I know who have had the surgery are much much older than me, I'm only 22. I'd love to chat about it feel free to private message me!

deli meat and cheese actually gives you a decent amount for lunch!
  17. how's everyone doing?! i'm at 9 weeks and have lost 35 pounds since my surgery date. I feel like that's slow compared to a lot of other people i'm reading about on here -- and i thought i'd lose MORE because i'm young. anyhow - how about the rest of you all?
  18. Hi All - I've started working out recently, and I'm having trouble adding strength exercises. So far I'm just doing 40 minutes of cardio (elliptical)... I cant really afford a personal trainer at the moment, so I'd appreciate any suggestions in terms of how to add light weights to my work out. If you could tell me which machines and how many reps to do, or send me links or videos - I'd really appreciate it
  19. Hi All! I'm almost 2 months out and I'm having a hard time making sure I'm eating enough calories. My job is incredibly stressful/time consuming so I'd like to have a couple of Snacks in my drawer so I can make sure I'm eating a little something every few hours. I'd love any recommendations! So far I've been having 1/2 an oatmeal packet in the morning, a ham/cheese roll up for lunch, and then a string cheese. Then I go home and have a piece of chicken or fish. It only totals to about 500 calories. So yes - any recommendations are appreciated! I seem to be able to tolerate most things but I'd love advice. Also, I have only lost 3 pounds in the last month. I lost very quickly the first three weeks after surgery, and nothing since! Could it be because I'm not eating or drinking enough?

December Surgery Thread - we rock!

Had surgery on 12/16, only have lost 20 since the surgery. I'm really frustrated since I haven't lost anything in a few weeks despite barely eating. I'm trying to move around and walk but I'm so tired/low energy that I can barely finish a day at work let alone work out. I'm feeling really depressed, I feel like this was a mistake. I'm only 22 and I feel like I've ruined my life. I know that being this upset at not losing for three weeks seems stupid, but I've been miserable and barely eating and I'm not seeing any results. I have been crying for the last two days feeling like I'm never going to get to where I need to be. I would appreciate any advice/suggestions.
  22. Hi all, On tuesday I'll be 5 weeks post op. I was doing really great and lost about 17 pounds from my surgery on 12/16 till New Years. Since the 1st, I have gained two pounds. I'm still not eating that much, and I'm walking around, taking my Vitamins, and trying to drink as much Water as I can. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. Could I be eating too little? Any suggestions to help me get out from this stall will be appreciated. I'm feeling pretty unmotivated - this was such a big decision to do this surgery, and I'm worried that I made a mistake by choosing to do it.
  23. I'm getting really disheartened. I haven't lost any weight in the past 10 days despite the incredibly limited diet. Has this happened to anyone? I'm starting to worry that something's wrong or that this surgery isn't going to work for me. I'd appreciate hearing anyone's experiences or advice
  24. Still nothing Feeling disheartened. BOOO
