Scales vs Measurements

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone else is going through this - My weight has only moved by about 1kg in the past 4wks, yet my measurements are dropping quite significantly.

I know that doing exercise builds muscle and that weighs more than fat thus not changing the scales much and I am exercising quite regularly. I just find it so odd that in the space of 9 days, I've lost about 7cm's from my waist (& similar in other areas) and my weight hasn't moved down more than 100grms. Plus I can actually see the changes in my body, so I'm completely bamboozled about the scales issue. It's actually quite disheartening despite the change in measurements!! It's quite hard to disassociate oneself from paying attention to the scales.

Tis very odd!!!

my longest stall started about 6 weeks postop. in fact, I gained 3 pounds and then lost nothing for a month. but I dropped a whole pant size during that month. I don't own a scale, so the only way I even knew I wasn't losing weight was because I went to the doctor 4 times that month for non-surgery related medical problems. as usual, my biggest advice is to stay off the scale. you're going to lose whether you weigh or not. why put yourself through unnecessary stress over some stupid numbers?

Muscle does not weigh more than fat, it just takes up less space. A pound is a pound. The drastic inch loss shows that you are doing what you're supposed to be doing and the scale will eventually catch up. I think you're doing great.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
