Dec. 15th anyone?

Hey everyone,

I am so excited to get going on this weight loss journey. I feel like I have tried so many other things but with this I feel I can have long term success! I got a bug to get it done and had my first doctor appt. Oct. 17th and it felt like it took forever to get scheduled but it really wasn't very long I guess. I am anxious to get it over with.

Scared of pain, wondering what I will eat. Anyone have any favorite Protein powders? I hear they will be my friend. The only ones I tried in the past were yucky! What about shakes? I like Optifast but they are pricey. Any decent ones out there?

Hoping for some buddies to go through this with me!

Chris.

Pre op done last nut done..... endo done.a few ulcers but not to bad. ... ready t o roll after blood work next Thursday. .. surgery 17

I'm scheduled for Dec. 15. Started my liquid protein diet yesterday, Dec 1. 4 protein shakes per day, clear liquids, jello, Popsicles, hot tea and broth. So far, I am hanging I there. Didn't think I could do this. Food commercials on TV are the worse. Cooking for the family is the next worse thing.

I actually started my 2 week liquid diet today. Protein shakes, sugar free jello or pudding and Popsicles. Broth. I made homemade soup for family so I got to have the broth. Actually a good day they say 2-3 is the worst.

Welcome mroth. the 15th is my date too. Just remember you being healthy is the best thing you can do for all your family. Hang in there.

mroth - I so get it! I just returned from a holiday party where I played invisible well. My daughter went with me. In theory it was with friends and should have been great, but I had a hard time making conversation at my table and was worried about eating and the pre op and being hungry! I am home and just want to curl up in bed now as I feel emotionally drained. Will the skinny people talk to me when I am thinner? Will my overweight friends avoid me? will I be able to be me?

Good news - I took my 3 oz of left over turkey, I put that on my plate and acted like nothing was different and ate a serving of green beans and passed all the rest right along past. I stayed with my pre op diet in a social situation.

We can do this, we want to do this, and there is no need to worry about aspects we can't control. We will be fine and we will grow internally as we shrink internally - we got this!

Thank you I'm very anxious keep weighing myself to ensure I'm on target!

Oh gosh not doing well with the pre diet eating and using shakes have lost nothing one more week to go if I don't meet target my surgery might be cancelled

Good Luck Benji. You can do this. Your surgeon want you to lose.

Thank you for the encouragement I need to stay focus ..

Why would your surgery get cancelled? That's not something I have heard of. Good luck to you, just keep on trying!

Mine is December 17th. Excited but a bit scared.

If anyone wants to text back and forth for support feel free to PM me to exchange numbers.

Skywalker I just did.

Benji we're always here if you need us.
