Gallbladder or heartburn???

Recommended Posts

Hi

I've been suffering from a burning tummy for a week or so. Before it came and went. I 'd eat rolaids and it would be gone. Now nothing is working. I keep sliming and I have not eaten.

Anyone experience anything like this?

What you are describing sounds like a problem with the band rather than a gallbladder problem. I would advise you call and make an appointment to be seen ASAP. This could be a serious problem but only your surgeon can do the testing required to give you your answers and devise treatment options.

yeah, Lila, I agree... you need some checking done! (do you mean you keep sliming EVEN when you haven't eaten, or you haven't eaten cause you keep sliming?) Either way, give your doc a call, and see what they want you to do!

Ditto with all of the above. Doesn't sound like gallbladder. Call the Doc

Take care

Wednesday I was in the most discofort and I had not eaten anything. So I thought it couldn't possibly get worse if I eat! So I ate a prepackaged frozen meal. And the burning was all most gone!! When I woke up it was starting to burn I ate and again it went away. very weird, as long i have eaten i feel ok

Lila i had that too. Don't know if it was the flu . I had test and they came back normal. I had a fluro xray and my band was fine. I had 2 defills and it felt better but it took awhile for swelling and inflammation to go down. Drink camiloe(sp) tea it helps the digestion system. It really works.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
