How long do the slimes last for?

I just ate too fast and am trying really hard not to vomit.

@@NewKaren Hi can you tell me when that started happening? Have you been experiencing it since surgery or since you began eating "real" food? I'm just curious to when that may start. I just got out of surgery on Monday so I'm still on full liquids. I haven't experienced any of it so maybe I haven't reached That point yet?

I only vomited once and that was in the hospital I was eating ice chips and took in a piece that was too large. I practiced eating slow pre-op and after that ice incident I remember to go slow.

Try taking slow, deep breaths.

Hi guys, I have experienced it a few times but last night was by far the worst. I need to make sure I only take one small bite a minute because I was hurting last night. And it lasted about an hour or so. The thing that really sucks is that I can't even lay down because the food is still sitting so uncomfortably. It's a true learning process, but I am down 48 lbs since my surgery on September 15th :-)

Yes...I've vomited quite a few times, its when you over eat and the food won't go down..it feels like you have to burp but nothing comes out..so the food is just sitting there until it comes up.

With me I keep swallowing to make the food go down.

But to no availability the saliva comes right back up with the food. ....I will never learn! Its a learning process

I've heard some people buy baby spoons so they have to take smaller bites. I was told by my nutritionist to chew my food slowly and let it dissolve instead of chewing and swallow like I used to.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
