Confused

I'm in Raleigh, Paul Enoch's is my surgeon and Nov 14th is my surgery date. I was going to have a lap band but he presented a new fairly new procedure he is doing and asked if I wanted to join a study on long term results. He explained that in Spain they have been doing this surgery for the last 3 years and in the states recently. My wife and I are in the medical field and his reputation is great. He is one of 7 surgeons nationally participating in the study it's called a Sleeve with single Anastomosis duodenoileal bypass (SIPS) . Anyone know anything about this. I can't find anything about this in any of the forums.

Hi all,

In a newbie and 6 days till surgery. I am having SIPS with Dr NG. I am really getting scared. Would very much like to talk to another SIPS patient. I have talked to DS and Rouen Y but unknown this is a bit different. Would like to hear tips to make it through, and really a bit of encouragement . I keep looking at all the weight loss YouTube's and the skin and hair loss is freaking me a bit. I am 215 and project to be 135. If you can message me with anyone willing to talk I would appreciate!!!

Hi i am almost 3 months post op with sips. Surgeon was Dr Roslin at lenox hill NY. Had a lapband removed during surgery which made my surgery a little longer. Surgery weight was 282 and today im 232. So 50 pounds lost. Surgery was tough but so so worth it.

Had a lot of gas pain and nauseou. Had some stomach pain but nothing too crazy. Was the best thing that ive ever done. Feel free to pm for more info or questions.

From the dates on here i am sure you have already had your surgery. Our group is the best. I bet if you post on our page all your questions you will meet someone that has had sips. Hi Mojo56,

I am considering the SIPS or DS surgery. I have read a lot of posts here about foul bowel movement and gas. I see that you were also struggling with this issue. How is it now? Has this gotten any better? Do you have to be super restrictive to keep it from happening?
