2nd day post op lapband

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! I'm finally banded and I couldn't be happier! It felt like forever waiting for insurance approval but after 4 months of nutritional visits I was approved. I was told my surgery took only 20 mins and everything went perfectly. I was incredibly sore after surgery and just wanted to sleep. Today I still feel sore and I'm not sure how to explain it but it feels like I have something (band) wrapped around my stomach. It's not painful just uncomfortable. Sometimes if I move to quickly I feel queezy so I'm taking it slow. My first fill will be 11/07 so that should be interesting. I'm not hungry but mentally I want a cheeseburger! I can barely take a sip of Water lol and want a cheeseburger, just crazy. So initially I started at 247 then got down to 235 on the preop diet, as of today I'm down to 230, which is pretty crazy to me. -5 in 2 days.

@@Jkim728 good to hear that it went well. I had mine yesterday and it also went well. Yesterday was tiering mentally and physically, I was so hungry and couldn't wait to put something other than Water in my mouth. Had a bit of Apple juice this morning.

My starting weight was 245 went down to 232.2 for surgery (pre op diet) but weird weighed myself this morning and I've gained weight I'm at 235...not sure what's happening, considering that I've only had water for the last 24 hours but won't let it bug me. Happy to be banded.

Hi there, congratulations both of you -- very exciting. I'm with Dahlia on the walking -- it really helped me. Any one who came over I had walk round and round the driving circle with me and whenever I got up from the recliner to pee, etc., I'd walk, walk, walk. I made it into a kind of game. I was never an enthusiastic exerciser but a switch went off in my head and today I am. Savory broth was a craving for me and I was able to have Miso with ginger, etc. (no bits) and broth. Also I enjoyed my Popsicles during this time, plus indulging in watching lots and lots of movies. Have fun and be proud of choosing yourself first and your healthy future. You are worth it!

Congratulations to Deez416 too ! If this is any help, I could'nt stand boxed or canned chicken broth. Even the low salt was way to salty for me. Instead i had Campbells chicken noodle Soup or Campbells vegetable beef soup . I would just drink the broth. Oddly, I didn't find them too salty and this helped me get something warm in my stomach, Good luck to both of you !

If you can get your weighing to once a week it will be far less discouraging

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
