    Any early October banders?

Sorry for the delay, just saw this. I'm doing great, how are you doing? I just had my first fill on November 18, which was exciting now I'm feeling a little more restriction prior to it I wasn't as much and was able to anything just in slightly lesser quantity.
  3. So happy for you!!! Dr Coburn was my surgeon too, you're in great hands! Yay!
  4. Getting my first fill tomorrow and I'm excited!! Had my surgery on October 15th and have been feeling hungry for the last 2 weeks so hoping tomorrow will make a difference.

    It's GO time....almost

Hi Mary, It was a day surgery for me, I was in and out in less than 4 hours. I was up and moving almost right away, it was painful but I forced myself to slowly walk (as recommend by everyone). The walking helped tremendously with the recovery and the left shoulder gas pains. The shoulder pain luckily only lasted 2 days for me. I had my surgery on a Wednesday and was back at work the following Monday.

    Hunger and no fill yet

@@janeykins1 I'm the exact same way, also getting my first fill on Tuesday and hoping it'll help with hunger. Good luck to us ☺️

    Day 2... I Got This!

Good luck! Exciting times a head. Glad it's going well so far on the liquid diet, the weight loss from being on those shakes for 2 weeks was totally worth it. I was nervous too, but come here for support all the time. I'm only 3 weeks post op and have 0 doubts that this was the best decision I've ever made. Good luck to you and keep us posted on how things go. ????
  9. Hi, I'm 7 days post op and still on the liquid phase but I'm struggling to get to my daily minimum Protein intake of 65G. Any suggestions? I'm back on having 2 Protein shakes a day, and a Soup for lunch but still not at 65G. Thanks.
  10. You look amazing! Congrats on reaching your goal!
  11. Should that be the case? I had my surgery on October 15 and having my first fill on November 18. I do get full faster, but I feel like I'm always hungry? I'm almost forcing myself to feel restricted.
  12. Is carbonated water allowed or is it better to stay away. I'm only 11 days post op.
  13. Thank you all so much for the support, I learned something new and ill definitely hang in there!!

    Surgery date set!

Love how positive you are! Hope all went well, keep us posted!!
  15. I'm on the same boat. Haven't lost a pound since I switched to purée food phase, even though I'm doing everything right (I hope). Hang in there, I'm sure the pounds will come off. Off to measure myself, can't believe I didn't do it earlier.
  16. I live in Toronto and Dr. Christopher Coburn from Smartshape weight loss clinic did my surgery less than a month ago. His clinic is based out of Mississauga but I believe they may also have a Yorkville office.

    Perrier Water

Thank you all so much! I will definitely stay away!
  18. Thank you all for your suggestions, I really appreciate it. I have an appointment with my doctor on Tuesday, I'll mention it then. I'm actually on the mashed food this week, I can't even go near the Protein shakes anymore, let alone have a couple of them a day. I've started having other things to compensate, but I'm still trying to get used to all this and I completely agree, the protein restriction should not be in place while learning to adjust to eating again while banded.
  19. I had my surgery last week Wednesday and had a Jello on Friday, no issues though. Not sure if this helps, I was using a baby spoon and filling a quarter of it per bite.

  21. I was very nervous too, but you'll find that the surgery itself will go by quick. I was in and out in 3 hours. Your list seems good, sums up my last 4 days. The day I came home on Wednesday, I had a very achy left shoulder and used a heat pad overnight worked great and the pain only lasted one day. Good luck tomorrow.
  22. The pre op diet surprisingly is not as bad. I was on a 2 weeks shakes diet, it was hard at first but tolerable it got a lot easier after the 3rd day. The shakes fill you up, so I never fought against that hungry feeling it was more of fighting against the will to snack. Good luck on your journey.
  23. Hi..I had my surgery on Wednesday and all is well but I have a question, the chest pain and that painful feeling in my throat when I feel like I have to burp but nothing comes out is that all gasses? If so, will it get better? I'm walking a lot but it happens overnight too.
  24. Thanks guys, will definitely try the heating pad and the gas strips and I'll continue waking .. Hopefully it goes away soon!! ????

    2nd day post op lapband

@@Jkim728 good to hear that it went well. I had mine yesterday and it also went well. Yesterday was tiering mentally and physically, I was so hungry and couldn't wait to put something other than water in my mouth. Had a bit of Apple juice this morning. My starting weight was 245 went down to 232.2 for surgery (pre op diet) but weird weighed myself this morning and I've gained weight I'm at 235...not sure what's happening, considering that I've only had water for the last 24 hours but won't let it bug me. Happy to be banded.
