Is it normal to have diarrhea right after surgery? I'm still in my soft food phase.

I am so sorry, this is one of my biggest fears. I work in my car and a bathroom is normally not close by. I am still preop for a couple more days but I wont see soft foods for a while after surgery, I think its 3 weeks before pureed, not sure if that is the same thing.

Are you having milk products, maybe some lactose intolerance? try soy milk if you are.

Yes it is. I think I was like that for at least 2 weeks. After you get on regular food you'll have the opposite problem.

I am 5 days post op also (10/8 surgery date) and the same I have the same thing. It's not severe but it's there. Keep hydrated !!!

Isopure was the cause of my diarrhea. The doc said my body couldn't handle such a pure protein. Once I stopped the drink. Problem was solved.

I'm 6 days post op and still on clear liquids for another week then full liquids for 2 weeks. And no issues with that.

I'm 5 days post op and had the same issue. I figured out I am now lactose intolerant...It resolved it immediately once I changed my protein source
