    Sleeve to Bypass weight loss

Following this board, I'm also in the process of looking into a revision. Would love to hear more updates from others that have revised from sleeve to bypass.

    Arthritis Supplements

Hi. Does anyone know if it's ok to take this kind of supplement after having the sleeve? I have arthritis in my knees and the pain has gotten worse so I was thinking about trying the "Move Free Ultra" joint supplement. I'm waiting for a call back from my surgeons office about this but was wondering if anyone here took this kind of drug. I don't see anything on the package that states it has NSAIDs in it.

    Sleeve to Bypass info needed

Great to hear! Good luck on your new journey
  5. My story, I had the sleeve in July 2014 at 300 pounds, got down to 210 by July of the following year but have been stuck there since. Gain & lose the same 5 pounds no matter what I do. Have tried increasing/decreasing calories, switching up exercising, 5 day pouch reset - you name it I've tried it but I'm stuck and frustrated. It seems like my body decided 210 was the weight it wants to stay at. I never had the big weight loss from the sleeve like I expected. When people were dropping big weight in the beginning months, my was coming off at a snails pace. I also never felt like I had the tight restriction most people spoke about. When we started eggs, most were like "I can only eat a couple bites" and I could eat 1 without any issues and not feel full. I honestly didn't feel like I even had a surgery. I can eat anything without issues and more of it at a time than I ever thought I would be able to after the sleeve surgery. So I'm not looking at possibly going for a revision from sleeve to bypass, but I have a couple questions for those that have been through it. What is your restriction from the pouch like compared to the sleeve? What was your starting weight when you had the revision and how much have you been able to lose since the revision? Do you have any issues with foods after the bypass that you didn't have with the sleeve? Do you regret the revision or happy with your results? I don't have any issues with GERD, I'm just unhappy with my total weight loss. I appreciate any feedback you can give me.

    SLEEVE TO BYPASS REVISION

I'm really glad I found this thread. My story, had the sleeve in July 2014 at 300 pounds, got down to 210 by July of the following year but have been stuck there since. 8. I'm sorry your friend reacted like she did. Was she aware you were in the process of getting the surgery? Or was this a total surprise to her? I agree that she probably feels somewhat like a failure since she regained weight. I would suggest you have an honest talk with her to find out exactly why she reacted like she did. Is she is upset by her regain, or fearful that you will end up being smaller than her or maybe something else is going on in her life that you don't even know about? Perhaps you can suggest that you and her work together once you have the surgery. You could help get her back on the right path and she can share her tips with you that helped her originally lose the weight. Good luck.
  9. I went back to work 1 week and 2 days after having surgery, however I felt like I could have gone back within a couple days. Compared to other surgeries I have had, gallbladder, hysterectomy - the sleeve was a very easy recovery for me. However, everyone is different. I hope you bounce back quickly.

  15. I wasn't sure where to post this. Since I had surgery last July I have always felt I could eat more than I should be after having a sleeve. I would see fellow sleevers post what they were struggling to eat and I was having no issues eating one egg a month after surgery, in fact I could eat 2 without feeling full. I told my weight loss center about my lack of restriction at my follow apt in November and the lady basically dismissed me like I was crazy.. My weight loss has been slow since the beginning and I've been stalled at the same weight for months. Today someone brought Panara bagels to work. I haven't had a bagel since before surgery and don't eat much bread at all. I took half a bagel and it went down without any issues. I decided to test to see how much I could eat. I ate the other half and still didn't feel full. I don't think anyone with a properly done sleeve should be able to eat an entire Panara cinnamon crunch bagel. Anyone else able to do this? Before I get backlash for eating this, I don't normally eat breads and don't plan on doing this again. I also weigh and measure what I eat on a daily basis to avoid overeating, which I know I can easily do. Forgot to add, I had this bagel about an hour after I had my normal morning Breakfast so it wasn't like I hadn't eating anything for a long time.

Can anyone else eat this much?

Thanks for everyone's input. I realize this wasn't the way to do a "pouch test", but as I said I always could eat more than others. I never thought pre-op that even if I went crazy and over ate that I would be able to eat the amounts that I can. I've made an apt with my surgeons office to get the size of my sleeve checked. I know I will always need to watch what I eat, but was hoping for way more restriction from the sleeve.

    Corn?

I haven't been sleeved yet, still waiting for a date. Anyway, I just had some corn on the cob. One of my summer favorites. Is your sleeve able to handle corn? It doesn't really digest anyway so I just wondering how the sleeve handles it. I'm assuming if you can tolerate it, it would be 4 months or more out from surgery.
  18. I've been in a stall and stumbled across this old post. Would love to know how everyone that posted is doing. Been in a stall for a couple months. Really ramped up the exercise the past couple weeks and the scale went the wrong way. Was getting 900 to 1100 calories at day and burning between 300 to 400 with exercise. Going to try to increase calories between 1200 and 1400 a day.

    Thunder thighs.

Same here, down 75 pounds and only 2 pants sizes. I'm two sizes smaller than I'm wearing in the waist area but anything smaller is too tight in the legs. I have to wear a belt with everything! I've been trying to get in more walking. Was told lunges is good for the thigh area but I have bad knees and that would kill them.
  20. I feel the same way, have been stuck for several months now. Had salmonella poisoning end of January and the only thing I could tolerate for a couple weeks was carbs. Opened up Pandora's box for me and I'm having a hard time getting back on track. Seeing everyone's advice was the kick in the rear I needed. I can see how easy it would be to gain it all back and that scares the hell out of me.
