Alcohol intake

Hey again looking for some answers. I had my sleeve on Sep 2 and I was wondering if anyone has had alcohol this soon. I know I can't drink beer but I was thing V-8 and a splash of vodka or gin not much but I'm missing my alcohol. I've had V-8 already I know I can handle it I was just wondering if anyone has tried any alcohol this early on.

  • At first it was difficult cutting out the booze. However, after month and learning how to cope with life without alcohol I became awake. It was a incredible change. Now people that drink bore me with

  • I was never much of a drinker, so it was about 6 months post-op before I tried a margarita. It didn't cause any problems with Frankensleeve. But I did get a buzz much quicker than normal. :-)

  • Dammit lol I guess I'll have to wait

jersrose43 I'm with you. Tried Chardoney tasted like crap, tasted red tasted worse! Have two open bottles that I suppose I will just have to pour out! Anything very sweet is awful... However a whole glass of V8 with one shot of vodka (think bloody mary) is devine. And it takes a loooonnnngggg time to drink it.

I am still just laughing at Forsythia's earlier post!!!

Well... It wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Came home from Vegas 3.5lbs heavier. But, I honestly think some of that is travel bloat. My eyes were even puffy this morning. I've had about 4 liters of water and only doing shakes and P3 protein packs (just one). I had a quest bar right before the gym so I'd burn those carbs up fast. Here's hoping for a decent drop tomorrow!

Well you've already got an angry, wounded stomach...I don't know if I'd risk it so soon. I've HEARD horror stories about bariatric patients that go from being a eater to a drinker. With that said, my 6 mths is next week and I'm going to try a little wine tomorrow.

My brother in law traded one vice for another after bypass and he gained 60lbs back. I'll pass. I'm.a cheap date now I cant imagine when I'm 100lbs lighter

6 weeks post op i got a really bad flu/cold. The Nyquil that I took gave me the room spins. I thought that was pretty amusing. About 3 1/2 months post op I took a half shot of Jager to Celebrate my recent engagement and it was fine. But I would recommend having alcohol so soon after surgery. Give your body a chance to heal.

I am 4 weeks out and I took Tylenol nighttime and it knocked me out. LOL

I think the Tylenol PMs are what I need. Did you crush or swallow the pill?

I haven't had any and maybe will never again. I will be glad to have coffee again someday though. :)
