  1. So 11 months post op and yes I drink.. Red wine tastes like crap and I used to love it, I only like white now.. But what is really strange... is the 'phases' I have gone thru... for a while I was CRAVING Bloody Mary's. It probably wasn't the alcohol but something in the tomato juice, although I made them with low sodium V8. The next phase was Red Grapefruit Juice and vodka... again I couldn't get enough Grapefruit! I was even buying the pre peeled Grapefruit in the produce section, it's chilled in jars.. and eating it. Now it it Cran-Raspberry juice and vodka...Ocean Spray makes a Light version, and raspberry flavoring in my Water daily.. So just wondering if my body is craving the acid or the Vitamin C in all these mixers and I am just making the situation bad b adding the alcohol?
  2. Ages since I checked in with yall.... didn't lose a pound for months but my clothing kept getting BIGGER so I know I was shrinking... Then the other day BAM 4 pounds! Don't know if I will ever reach goal.. been bad about not getting enough Protein, slipping up I guess.. but somedays it is just a chore. Premier Protien shakes are a staple in the house now, even my DH who never had a weight problem in his life, will grab one for a quick pick me up, mid afternoon. Now If I could just wean him of Ding Dongs! lol...
  3. I agree about the dense foods... and still have restriction, eating one bite too much is very unpleasant. I have a slight reoccurring pain at the site of the left side incision. I think early on something in there pulled or tore, it is happening less often now, but is a quite sharp, short lived pain when it does.
  4. I did post op... gas migrated up into my shoulder.. but not now.
  5. I still cannot eat bread.... the other day I went to Denny's ordered off the senior menu, one egg scrambled 2 (tiny) slices of bacon and a belgin waffle, previously I LOVED waffles... I managed to eat the egg and the bacon and 1/4 of a 8 inch waffle and I was stuffed...... and the waffle didn't even taste that good... teach me to eat carbs.
  6. Oh I wish it was just loose skin.... no, it's fat.
  7. Thanks mbrinmn, I am sure she will. She is a thin person, always has been, but has never ever judged me or my weight. Even at my heaviest she never said a word. I am quite certain she will be happy for me. So another question to change the subject.. Most of the loss has come off my face, neck, chest, thighs and upper arms. I still have this ugh Muffin Top, ring of lard around my middle and my belly, reminds me of those infernal internet ads "Remove stubborn belly fat with this miracle tip". UGH! I know we can't pick and chose where the fat comes off, unless one has surgery. But does anyone else have this issue? The Abdominal FAT? Is there a scientific explanation for it?
  8. I stalled also... most of December, I find it interesting that others at the same stage also stalled. I attributed it to the Holiday Goodies that were EVERYWHERE, and a bite here and a bite there snuck into my mouth! LOL. But over the last week I have felt my restriction in full force, not hungry at all.. tried to concentrate on Protein and Water and lost 5 POUNDS! I am feeling so much better and in such less pain in my back and knees it is a miracle! Nowadays I look at extremely overweight people and can't help but think how badly they need this surgery. But having been there I do not say anything. Saturday I am meeting an old friend that I have not seen since pre-surgery, she doesn't know about it and will be surprised I am sure.
  9. Fabletics just sent me an email that says if I don't place an order or push a button they are going to charge me $49.95 as a membership fee!!! I specifially do not remember signing up for this!!!! very sneaky if you ask me! Just turned me off of them... How many outfits do they think you need? I have not even recieved the first one yet! Please either make a purchase or Skip the Month by 1/08/15 to avoid a membership charge. If you don't take action, you'll be charged $49.95 for a member credit on 01/09/15. You can apply this member credit to a future Fabletics order
  10. OMG Crystal88, "WE" would never laugh at you! Those living in glass houses should not throw stones!!!! I am CERTAIN many, many of us have our own 'track suits' hidden in our closets! Mine is a beautiful Chinese Silk Jacket, that belonged to my Grandmother that has hung in my closet for over 40 years!
  11. Lol ok I get it! slinky pants! ???? 45 minutes at Goodwill just netted me 4 pairs of jeans for $15!!! two Gloria vanderbuilts , one Jordache and one brand I didn't recognize ! I can't take the time to alter jeans for that price!
  12. I know about GV Jeans... been wearing them for a couple years, trouble is they are hard to find, in 3 trips to GW I have found 3 pairs 12, 14 and an 18. Bought them all... but right now I need 16's! Guess I will head back to GW on my lunch hour! btw, what is a slinkie?
  13. Does anyone have this problem with jeans? I have lost a lot of inches off my butt and thighs, but My waist is still larger than my hips. (apple shape) Most women's jeans have a smaller waist. So I am finding jeans that fit my waist are huge and baggy over my rear and thighs. Any suggestions for a brand that fits?
  14. Hey Sharon1964, Better late than never! Good answer! Christmas day the phone was shoved into my hand and I was blindsided by my in-laws on the other end, except for my father in law, every single one asked about my weight loss! Geeezzzzz! I need to practice my answer; "Thanks for asking, but I am tired of talking about it, how is YOUR abc or whatever?" Or if I am feeling bitchy I like your answer!
  15. Thanks !!! you just never know ordering online for the first time... But the whole outfit was 50% off and free shipping, so I figured I didn't have much to lose... What I would like to find is some good Denim leggings. Anyone? Fabletics? I love them. Really nice quality.
  16. Elode is right.... too few calories and you wont lose either. The body thinks it is starving and goes into a conservation mode. Have you tried Protein shakes? Premier chocolate is my fav... half and half with skim milk tastes just like chocolate milk and you get a great protein boost!
  17. I just ordered this.... oh boy, I hope it fits! I have never had any ... exercise clothing.

  19. Oh Elode, come to the ladies room... you would like it!
  20. I avoided alcohol for about 2 months until I was sure my stomach was healed. Now I sip a bourbon and Water and it lasts a long time! No beer no bubbly. Wine tastes like cr*p, Bloody Mary's made from scratch are YUM, don't like the premade mixes, too much salt and pepper. coffee I have drunk since day 1, limited amounts, usually just 1 cup in the morning, sometimes 2.
  21. That is interesting that you say you are always thinking about food... I try NOT to think about it, but I do. I mean I still have to cook. I have always cooked, we were never a 'fast food' family. But now cooking means creative ways to eat healthier for myself and my DH. He doesn't object, although I wonder when he is going to ask for a salad!
  22. Yay!!! Made it to ONEDERLAND! 199 today! down 65 pounds! UNBELIEVABLE! And this with all the Christmas candy, cookies and goodies still stareing at me! Honestly I don't even want them... they don't even appeal to me.. but then not much does. Almost 5 months and my sleeve is still very restrictive, thank goodness...

Don't you just hate it when your kid is right?
  24. Well I will chime in here.... I am a bourbon and Water gal.. so my choice is pretty simple... I used to drink wine and beer but cannot stand the taste of either since surgery, besides beer being carbonated which I avoid. My 2nd choice is a Bloody Mary, that way I can at least pretend there is some nutritional value in the drink I would AVOID like the PLAGUE any and all fruity, frothy, frozen drinks with any kind of mixer... including, Margarita's, Daquaris and the like, as those mixers are loaded with SUGAR. I shudder to think of dumping a shot into my sleeve! You would probably have to scrape me up with a spoon! Martini's made with Gin and Vermouth or Vodka and Vermouth, Gin and Tonic and other similiar drinks have less sugary mixer in them . Although again Tonic water does have 16 grams of sugar in 6 ounces. Again Avoid the fancy pink, girly, chocolate versions... sugar sugar sugar. GOOGLE low calorie cocktails, experiment a bit and find one or two you like. Memorize or write down the recipie(s), when you first get to the bar ask the bartender to make your drink according to your recipie, tip him/her generously and you should be set for the evening. As long as you don't go ordering shots!
