My journey has been a stressful yet speedy one. Got all my requirements completed and set up for my surgery on 9/30.

I haven't really shared with many people that I even decided to begin this journey. The people I have shared with are amazingly supportive and I am so thankful for that.

Lately I've been wondering/worrying about the "backlash". Not as to whether this will be something I regret... but comments. Comments about my decision to comments about my transformation. I'm a closed off person and not prone to talking about myself or taking comments about how I look very well.

It's just one of a laundry list of things on my mind.

When I lost over 100 lbs (without surgery) the questions and comments were endless hiw did you do it what are you eating, how long has it taken you. I remember once when asked how did you do it for the 300th time I answered you know jelly rolls, Bagels, and ice cream. But i realized that people were genuine in their wanting to know so after that I tried to more patient. Funny but a year ir so later when the weight was all coming back on no one ssid a word.

I guess what I am trying to say is prrpare yourself because it will happen, maybe coming up with a standard line like low carbs and exercise because in reality without that piece the wls will not be successful.

Many people are genuinely curious about success stories. They sometimes have themselves in mind towards following in your footsteps. So I tend to honestly tell them about my bariatric surgery. Many don't seem to understand the process and congratulate me on my hard effort. What hard work, I had the surgery and I lost the weight.

My surgery date is September 30th also!:-). I don't care what anyone thinks about me and my decision to have gastric bypass because no one but me has to inject themselves with insulin three times a day while trying to work two jobs and go to school but me. My friends understand and those who don't are afraid that I'll look better than I do now. I will put me first because I'm worth it!

Hi you said you had the surgery but remember it's a tool, you still have to exercise and watch what you eat. I realize it is a life time change. I an excited to start

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
