Surgery Feb and have lost 83 lbs but I had a flareup of the fibromyalga and have ended day 5 of muscle spasms so bad I cannot function. About three days ago, they moved over to one side, like behind my rib cage on my back/left side. I have not been able to do anything, I can hardly get up and down out of the chair..........I have been hot tubbing, using bio flex and got some muscle relaxers from a friend (I know)...they helped a little but I guess if I am not a whole lot better tomorrow I will go to the ER. My doc is 2 hrs away and I can't ride that far, I am not sure I can even get into the vehicle. So depressed from all this...:blush:

Sorry you are going through this. I am having issues too, they sound almost the same pain in left side in middle of my back. I would swear my ribs are shifting. I am 5 months out and 115 down including pre-op. Hope you find relief from the pain. I got a massage and she said she believes I am losing my muscles causing pain.

As much Protein as I get I don't know how I could be losing muscles. You too I hope. I don't think I could even get on a massage table.....much less stand to be rubbed and I LOVE massages. Hoping for a better day tomorrow for us both

Thank you for the one reply. I meant to say BioFreeze...not BioFlex

@@shmily is this the first flare you have had since the surgery?I also have Fibromyalgia and so far I have felt great with no problems. But I know I am just waiting for it to come back. I'm sorry you are in so much pain. I do know how you feel.

Hi and thanks for the reply, no this is not the first flare up since surgery but for sure the worst. Not being able to do my walks or ride the bike is killing me too, it all works together....better today and see the doc tomorrow. Hoping for it to go away.

I hope your doctor's appointment went well. So far I haven't had and fibro issues but I am just kind of waiting. I keep hoping it's gone for good but I know that is just a dream :) I wish you the best. Those of us with fibro need to stick together. I do think this surgery has been the best thing I could have done. Getting this weight off has made a world of difference for me.

How are you doing? I hope your flare ups are not occurring anymore. I have found out if my body is fighting anything else it makes me hurt somewhere else. Like I started hurting and aching and it was an ear infection. The Dr thinks it inflames my whole body when I am trying to fight something. I haven't had to go to the ER over it, but I have had to slow down and deal with the pain in more than one way. It changes my mood and then that's a bigger problem.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
