Recommended Posts

Down 20 lbs with 40 more to go. I'm feeling very tired. I'm having a tough time getting the Vitamins down. Does have any suggestions?

Just hang in there. I had days where I thought I couldn't take another Protein drink. Or the thought of food was nauseating.

I've had the blues some days and just felt defeated. I'm 11 weeks out and things are just now turning the corner. I feel like I finally have a routine. The first weeks were so touch and go I just did what I could and threw my hands up on the rest.

Just remember every day gets better. So chalk this one up to blah.

It's normal that you are tired right now. Bariatric Choice has Vitamin capsules that might work for you. They don't have that nasty vitaminsy smell and I find them quite easy to swallow. I've been swallowing Actigal since 1 week out and it is about the same size as these Vitamins.

I completely understand. I am at one month and going through the something. I spent Sunday at the mall. Today, I just want to go to bed and wake-up normal. Yes, I am losing weight but not feeling great. I believe that it will get better. You are not alone!

Thank you ... it's been a month and I want to just be alone and sleep. I will try new Vitamins. Your post has been encouragement ... I only told my sister I had the surgery done so it's been hard getting sick around my friends. The thought of another shakes makes me nauseated! But I need to get back on it to lose the next 40 lbs.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
