Take it easy. I did not have a desire to eat and at times I still do not. Had to get Isopure Protein to drink. Make sure you are drinking well. Had lap band 3/30 and still no fill, due to poor appetite and good wt. lost, 23lbs since 3/30.

I was banded same day 4-19 and I have an appt. for a fill on May 21st...but if I dont want one or if I am losing still then I dont have to get one. I am getting hungry for solids, but not craving anything in particular...you know the one thing that I thought I could not live without...PIZZA...never even crosses my mind. I am not saying I will NEVER eat it...but I dont have the I HAVE TO HAVE pizza NOW OR I AM GONNA SCREAM attitude that I had pre band. I am eating mushies and tonight I had chicken breast that I cooked all day in crock pot...added some veggies and potatoes....and this evening had a wonderful meal...well, if you can call it a meal...blended up the chicken with some of the juice and it was delicious...veggies were mushy and mashe some potato up.... It was a great and family could eat it too!!

Hey, it's nice to have met someone who had surgery the same time as me. I have been getting on my scale and I know I lost more. About 5 more but I wish it could be 10 more. As for having my first fill, I am looking forward to it. I still feel my restriction but I feel I can eat more than I did in the beginning. I have no problems eating solids. Everything has gone too well. What does that mean? Nice meeting you. Please keep in touch.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
