I do have 1 slice of pizza and can eat with no problem. I also eat hot dogs with half the bun from time to time. However I am 6 months out and I don't keep my band tight.

pizza is a once in a while treat for me. It's not that I don't love eating it, it's a choice I've made. As good as a hot slice of pizza is, it's so much better to walk into a place like Old Navy and know that even though the clothes are too young for me, I can still try them on if I want to. Shopping these days is much better than eating. I will need a new fall/winter wardrobe as the clothes I wore last winter no longer fit and I can't wait to start buying stuff!

I eat the cheese off of a slice of pizza and give the bread to hubby to eat. It tastes the same. I also eat hot dogs all the time no bun. I just stay away from the bread products but go in for the cheese and meat whenever.

I am gluten intolerant so I eat the topping. Good idea to put it on salad

pizza has always been one of my favorite foods. Since being banded, I just eat the pizza toppings and leave the crust. Honestly, the crust was always just a vehicle to get the toppings to my mouth anyway as I've never been crazy about crust so I'm perfectly happy with just eating the toppings. As for hot dogs, I rarely eat them but, when I do, I just eat the hot dog and chili with a fork and omit the bun.

I never was a pizza lover. Two of the dances I attend once a month serve pizza at 11:00. I get it and give it away or if I am hungry, I eat the toping

It took me 19 months to have pizza. Had one of those small microwave ones. Over 500 calories so ate it all day. Well, that's over thank God!

I eat pizza 2 - 3 times a month, usually when I'm out with friends. Before WLS I would eat 2/3 of the entire pie, but now I eat at most 2 slices. To eat pizza, I have to take my time to really chew so nothing gets stuck in my tiny stoma. But, I can eat all kinds of pizza (pepperoni, veggi, meat lovers, etc.)

For hot dogs, again, I have to take my time to really chew so nothing gets stuck in my tiny stoma.

I have yet to have the bread on s piece of pizza. I was banded in January. It literally takes me two hours of very small bites and intervals to chew a piece of whole grain toast. Instead I eat the cheese and toppings off the pizza and leave the bread. I think I was about five months out when I did this. Everybody responds differently to things though but the toppings taste just like the pizza minus the processed flour and carbs. Wine I had sooner. I don't drink much but never do I feel guilty when I do. We aren't supposed to stop living just modify our lifestyle to healthier choices! :)

My recovery from surgery was very fast, so I think it might have been only a month after surgery when I had pizza. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but I think I was drinking beer at about the same time.

I should emphasize the difference in the quantities of pizza I consumed before and after surgery: before surgery I would eat 3/4 of a large pizza, after surgery I only can handle about 2 slices.

I'm still enjoying the same amount of beer :-)

I don't eat pizza (crust and melted cheese would never get through my band). But if I am wanting a pizzalike experience, I can make something similar with a cauliflower crust, pizza sauce, sauteed zuchini, olive slices and some parmesan cheese on top. One slice is my meal, and I bring and reheat the leftover slices for lunch during the week. (Heats up well in the microwave).

At first I could eat because I didn't have any Fluid in my band but it wasn't right away after surgery it was like a month after, then I got my first fill & found out really quick that my band does not like anything starchy, I even tried to eat a sandwich thinking it would be a healthy option, but NOPE & in the summer I wanted a slurpee so bad & I don't even think of those any more because I drank a small one WITHOUT a straw & it felt like I had a rollercoaster in my body , so I no longer & haven't had that stuff, I can take the toppings off the pizza but I rarely do that, because that is like having a treat & I can only do a little & I have to eat that REALLY slow& take REALLY small bites & chew well.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
