I had my lap band surgery on March 29, 2007. On April 27, 2007, I had my first adjustment. The problem is I still feel hungry. My ability to eat bread has significantly decreased but its every thing else that is posing a problem for me! I'm thinking I need another adjustment...am I right???:help:

I could get one every 2 weeks as needed BUT, every single fill I've ever had has taken anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks to fully become effective. Let me give you an example. I've had 6 fills to get to 3 cc's in my 4cc's band. My last fill was 5 weeks ago. Up until 1 1/2 weeks ago I could eat solid Proteins up to about 1/2 cup, perfect right? Well, now, 5 weeks after my fill it's fully kicked in and I'm having to go tomorrow for a slight unfill. So, it may take yours 2 weeks as well. I would give it a little bit of time and let your esophagus and stoma and everything get use to it and if in a couple of weeks you still need some I would get a little more. This is imho only though. Good luck.

I had 6mls for my first fill. I only have 2 fills included within the package price I paid for surgery. I can eat more now than when I first had my fill done. I think I might need a fill but the hospital keep telling me to leave it another month. Are you eating the right amount of food? I'm eating around 1200 calories a day now as my dietician recommended me too. She mad me keep a food diary and said she wasn't surprised I was hungry as I wasn't eating enough.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
